I CAN PLAY GAMES BETTER
My GAMES CAN FINALLY RUN WITHOUT STUTTERING. I have been loving my SSD now that I have it. One of the best and most reliable pieces of hardware needed for any PC. However, make sure you get one that’s on the higher end of storage for your games. I made the mistake of snagging this one while it was on sale and for the price its been so much better to game. Its speeds are amazing too loading in new areas doesn’t take as long. I’ll definitely be going to a 2TB or a 3TB in the future. The price tag is worth it for such a great piece of hardware. If you’re unsure of compatibility check your Motherboard for a PCIe slot before purchasing. Otherwise you’ll have to return it. Installing it was rather easy too.

Great SSD, UNTIL it fails...
I had this SSD for 2 and a half years. I loved it, and I loved how much better the boot-ups were, and even when starting up applications on Windows. HOWEVER, about a month ago as I type this review, I got hit with a blue screen with the code, "Unmountable boot volume." After some troubleshooting, I cut my losses, and had to re-install Windows 11 on an old HDD I had before I switched to this SSD. I don't know what caused it to fail. Bottom line, as much as I wanted to give this an overwhelming 5-star review, I can't. I'm ONLY giving this 4 stars because as an SSD, it does the job pretty well, but just keep in mind that there's always a chance of the drive failing on you when you least expect it.

Great, value priced, name brand SSD...
Excellent upgrade for my Dell laptop. Installation took me all of five minutes, and the laptop is booting in less than 30 seconds (Linux Mint OS - Windows 11 had an update that caused the BSOD). It fit perfectly, and came with a new screw to replace the old one from the 512 GB SSD this replaced. This is a reliable brand, so I don't see any issues in the future. This is an excellent product.

Not the fasest but gave olf laptop new life
I had recently popped open my trusty 7 year old Acer Spin 3 laptop (i7-7th gen, 12 gb RAM) to install a new battery and was a bit surprised when I noticed what looked like an M.2 slot sitting there waiting to be filled. After a bit of searching I was happy to find that it was indeed an NVMe slot and became anxious to stick something in there - as any good propeller head would. So, looking at these drives on Amazon I discovered that the NVMe drives are quite reasonably priced. I decided to go for a 2 TB (what the heck) and figured an Acer one would have a good chance at being compatible. The item arrived as expected and was easy as cuttin' butter with a hot knife in July to install. Slip it in the slot, 1 screw (provided), reboot, set BIOS, and start Windows 11 - good to go. When PC fired up, BOOM there it was. I imaged it from the existing Crucial SSD (installed a while back to replace the spinner) used the OEM Acronis downloaded with the link provided in the documentation (which is minimal but adequate). I have to say that, after years of bustin' open PCs and bare-metal server builds from my days working in software engineering (tester donkey - actual engineer show horse) the Acer is a pretty good box so I hope that translates to this NVMe. The fact that a vintage 2016 laptop had the necessary TPM 2.0 to run 11, and possessed this fancy pants slot they are to be commended on their foresight. As long as this box continues to light up, I'll keep banging away on it. I'm hoping the new drive keeps it kicking as long as MS lets me use it (think of how many boxes have been retired due to TPM). Congrats to Acer on this drive (time will of course tell) and their engineering prowess.

Two units failed, both about a week after installing and adding ~1.4TB of data to drive.
I really wanted to like this product. Usually Acer products are reliable and offer a good value. The first one failed, so I tried to be patient and give it one more try. Unfortunately, the second FA100 2TB NVME drive failed in a strikingly similar way. In both cases: - The failure happened after the drive was installed/working for about a week in Windows 11 - The failure results in the drive "disappearing" from Windows Explorer. It's visible in Device Manager (returns a device not ready/device cannot start error). - The failure happened when I finished installing ~1.4TB worth of games to the drive (which is a disappointing waste of bandwidth/time; now I have to download it again for the 3rd time) The drives were intended as an upgrade from a 1TB Samsung 980 NVME SSD that's worked flawlessly since ~May of 2019 in my Acer Predator laptop. When I removed the Acer FA100 drives and installed the original Samsung NVME or a newer 2TB Samsung NVME, it works fine in my machine. Perhaps there's a compatibility issue with the Acer Predator laptop and these Acer FA100 drives. I don't have the time or interest in troubleshooting why these 'Acer' products don't seem to work reliably together. Judging by the reviews, some folks seem happy with them. But for me, the FA100s were a disappointing waste of time & effort. I don't think I will be purchasing any more 'Acer' NVME drives; I will stick with reliable brands I can trust.
