Clean and smooth share from a long established Dutch company (Philips)
I have been a user of Philips shaving products since a teenager. There is nothing to change my opionion now of Philips as far as the product goes but the lack of a plastic cover over the heads , no brush and the snap on head and beard trimmer is a cost cutting measure which was not a good idea. No issues with hair removal , does a nice clean cut/shave, good period of time when fully charged , no issue with the noise not unduly loud. After over a month use I have not experience in skin irritation and no reduction seen in the power of shaver. Ita worth strongly consider buying some extra heads for when they need replacing and get a brush to keep it clean, wouldn't recommend putting the heads under a cold water tap after use and dry it afterwards if you can use a brush so much the better.

A quick and easy to use shaver
I haven't used what used to be known as a Philishave rotary shaver since the seventies and relied on wet shaving daily. What an improvement this Philips S5000 series shaver is on past products. The shaver is a nice design, and has an ergonomically shaped sturdy handle, with a small integrated screen to show battery level and cleaning reminder, along with charging status. Being battery powered, and therefore wire free, makes it easy to handle and pack for a holiday. It has enough power when in use and cuts through my beard growth well. It is easy to charge, with a reasonably short charging time, 5 minutes for a quick turnaround or 1 hour for longer use. In the months I have had it I have only had to charge it twice, but I do alternate it with a wet razor. I found it light but firm in the hand and gives a reasonably close smooth shave, but not as close as a wet shave obviously. It will shave a couple of days growth with no problem. It is straightforward to clean, just pop the head open and run under a tap. The shaver head carrier is a light plastic tray and may fall out if shaken hard. It is just as easy to pop back in, it has a metal hinge. It is also easy to press the on/off switch with a thumb in use, but just press it again and away you go. I would have liked a proper carrying pouch instead of a cheap foam cover. My only real gripe is that I found the sideburn trimmer is not very good, and you have to change the head to use it, as it is not integrated. I went against my usual habits and actually read the owners manual, which had one or two handy tips which may make a difference in how you use it. I had to supply a two pin plug adapter for the charging lead and there is no protective cover for the head supplied. Overall, I am pleased with it and will continue to use it.

Thigh Performance shaver
Supported elderly neighbour with purchasing this item. Was unsure after looking in chemist &!electrical shops which to get. Then looked online various website , then came across this particular brand . Ordered It arrived the next day with some charge. Charged up couple hours . Best shave he’s had for a very long time . As we know with aging , tendency to wards more difficult areas to such as sunken cheeks . Very sharp bladesThis shaver did it magic, it works beautifully easy to use ,clean & charge up. No cleaning brush in packaging so soft old toothbrush can be deployed.. Easy to grip great functionality & design even for somone with arthritic wrist or hands It was a good price

Mens electric razor
Quick delivery, good quality shaver, easy to use & clean, provides excellent close shave, re charge only necessary about every few weeks depending on use. Reasonably priced. Recommended.

A good value electric razor
Cuts quite well, considering it's electric. Deals with 3 day beard adequately and if I persevere, it's almost as close as a wet shave (almost). Charging time fairly quick and the life of a charge is good too.

Good shaver
I am very please with my new shaver. I bought it to replace my previous one which was a Braun. I had had Philips shavers in the past but got the Braun as it was recommended by Which, but I never liked it. My new Philips suits me much better. It is more comfortable on my face. The charge lasts longer which is very convenient. The only downside is that it takes longer to shave than my previous shaver, but, it does shave more closely if I am patient!

2 yr. blade life (well!) over stated.
An OK item but it's important to know that the '2 year blade life' is well over stated in my experience. I was bought this for xmas in 2024 and found after six months I could only get a decent shave if I used it as a wet razor with gel. Using it as a dry shaver became ineffective. Six months further on it wasn't even effective using it wet so I have bought some replacement (genuine Philips) blades. They are not cheap coming in at around £25 a set. It may of course depend on your type of beard but please note this if planning to purchase this or any other Philips shaver that utilises the same heads. When this fails I don't think I will be buying Philips again but will look to Braun or other alternatives.
