1.5 year ago I stained the maple edge banding and applied to vinyl flooring stair steps an in-ept (now unemployed) installer created. I reduced the width to about 3/8" used the tip of the iron and it has held beautifully. I saturated the product with pre-stain; no adverse effect on the glue. Last week I applied the birch to 3/4" birch veneered plywood for shelving, applied 3 light coats of polyurethane to match finish, then applied with iron. Looks pro. This is much easier to use than other pre-glued product. I couldn't be happier with the results.

Veneer tape works great. Put it on right it stays on!

This is pretty good. Idk if it’s GREAT, but I don’t have anything to compare it to. This is my first time using it and I heated it up with an iron (after cutting to size). Sometimes it would stick, other times it would not. I used wood glue and painter’s tape on the pieces that didn’t adhere well. I am confident with wood glue, but I’m a little concerned about the longevity of the product (and if it’ll hold up over time). But it’s attractive and I plan to paint it.

I’m an experienced wood worker and have used edge banding on many projects. Recently I tried a slightly less expensive brand from Amazon; it was junk!!!…very poor adhesion due to little or no glue, very thin veneer that burned easily with medium heat of the iron, and in areas where there was enough glue, the veneer was so flimsy that I couldn’t keep it aligned anywhere near the edge of the board; it slid from side-to-side while I was trying to iron it onto the board edge, and because the veneer was so thin I couldn’t push it back into place without cracking or bending over the edge. Enough about the junk product… I’ve used Edge Supply edge banding before and was very happy with it, so I went back to Edge Supply and bought this 50’ roll of birch edge banding. Edge Supply really does provide the best value in edge banding. The wood veneer is very good quality, and glue/adhesion is excellent. However, be aware that there are several finger splices throughout the 50’ roll, but they are a perfect fit and nearly invisible if you use a natural finish. If you’re using a dark stain, this will make the splices more visible.

So I have a tulip based oval topped table I decided to make a racetrack tabletop. I got a woodworker to cut the top and I’m going to epoxy it, but the plywood sides had so many small holes, I would have had to fill them with wood filler and sand to make the epoxy smooth on the sides. At the suggestion of a carpenter friend, I got this banding instead. He said I’d have to get the 1” and cut down because that’s how they sell it, but I was able to find 3/4” here no problem. It was hard getting started. I used painters tape in to tack the pieces up and started with my iron hot. I dumped out all the water because it was spilling or making steam. The edges were rounded a bit which made it a little more complicated, but I’m so pleased with the project I have decided to edge band other items.
