Menthol Pastilles 45g

Years ago, my mum used to swear by Proctors Pinelyptus cough sweets. Every time I'd find one in the car glove box, I'd think it was a Jelly sweet. They weren't. They tasted so bad and I could never understand why anyone would self inflict this on themselves. Fast forward 30 years. I now swear by Olbas oil pastilles and my friends and children don't understand why I use these. Yes, they do taste like you are drinking the liquid you dab on your clothes or tissues BUT they work! I even preemptively take one now if I think I may start coughing because they are that effective. I may invest in stock soon just to recoup some of the small fortune I've spent buying these but that is just testimony to their effectiveness.

Par of the job was doing guest lectures and public speaking. One of the directors, was an ex-Royal Navy Captain (equivalent army rank (full) Colonel). He recommended I try Olbas Oil Pastilles to help my throat when speaking for long sessions. I did, and they worked. Tucking one up in your upper sulcus (where your gum meets your mouth) let’s it dissolve and lubricate your throat. In fact they are so efficacious, for many years I didn’t ever leave home without a packet on me. Then, a few years back, they seemed to drop off from the usual high street chemists, and I ended up going back to ending up hoarse. Having said that I found Aldi’s Extra Strong Mints to be an excellent substitute. Then typically, they stopped selling them, and every other brand never worked like Aldi’s. So imagine my joy when I came across the Olbas Oil Pastilles on Amazon! To make it even sweeter, they’re at least £1 cheaper than high street chemists when they did sell them. Of course, there has to be a downside and these pastilles actually do have one. They are vile when the sugar coating wears off. However, after a whole packet has been consumed you acclimatise to the taste and you’ll never go back due to the vocal benefits. Persevere with them, they are worth it. Not only do I still have to do a vast amount of talking, but I also suffer with post nasal drip (PND). It’s always when I have a cold or am congested. When I sleep, nasal mucous, drops down the back of my throat and causes hoarseness and soreness. Again, there is nothing better for easing PND and getting your voice back to normal. Trust me, these are the best there is. BUY THEM, THEY’RE DOTTORE APPROVED!!!

Work well to clear the sinuses. Quite strong, coated in sugar so not for everyone.

I love these pastilles. I suck one whenever I feel a sore throat coming on and it often clears up quickly. If the sore throat persists, I can take more.

I have not used the recent boxes that I have bought yet, but I have used them for years, and has always been very satisfied with them. I expect to get the same results with the current ones. I love the brand for the quality, strength, and the soothing way it can help to drift you off to some peaceful sleep. Works wonders when you're not up to par in the winter weather. A little sore, and achy from the flu, or just the coldness that we can feel this time of year. I guess for the quality, the price fits. It does help with pain, which is what I think help with us get that restful sleep.
