Great replacement
My OEM gas cap for my '99 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has started freezing in the winter months, allowing pressure to build up in the tank which ultimately throws a code. I assume the materials are just aging as it is the original cap that came with the truck. I purchased an off-brand locking gas cap and it wouldn't release vapors either, allowing pressure to build up and throwing a code. Everything else checked out so I purchased the AC Delco gas cap, problem solved. I trust AC Delco and have never had any issues with AC Delco (GM Genuine) parts and would recommend this gas cap.

BEWARE!!! Cap Doesn’t Seal Properly on Gas Tanks!
Would give this 0 stars if it were possible. Horrible item. Doesn’t fit on gas tank properly for a 2004 GMC Yukon like it is advertised to. It appeared to and clicked like normal but upon inspection by my mechanic and $650 later (among other EVAP issues) this purchase cost me out a vehicle for a month while it was in the shop and it turned out this cap was the main culprit. It couldn’t clear the EVAP check because this cheap cap doesn’t make a proper seal on your gas tank. Dont waste your time or money on this poor quality product.

Didn't fix my EVAP code but is a good place to start!
I was getting a P0443 code on my 2006 Silverado, so I did what others said online and replaced the gas cap first. It's an easy first step and can fix some EVAP codes, but not in my case. Still, I can't take off any stars because it's a great OEM-quality replacement and was a good value; it just didn't fix my problem. I definitely recommend this as a first step to fixing EVAP issues!
