Upgraded the Controller, solenoid, and switched to Lithium. This fuse block was just what I needed. I would buy this again if I needed one without hesitation.

The bad: The holder is a bit thinner than most brand name fuse holders on the market. Feels flimsy, but will work. Face it though, the openings on the sides of the cover are NOT going to allow you to use a cable large enough to support 500A without cutting away some of the plastic to allow for the width of the cable. For example, I use a 2/0 cable with very thick insulation. The O.D. of the cable is .75" and the cover will not snap back on because of the tension caused by the cable in the opening. Also, be aware that the two plastic plugs that cover the bolt heads on the backside of the fuseblock have a bad habit of popping off. A dab of superglue or silicone, and they are adhered in place. The good: Comes with a 500A ANL fuse, and for the price at the time was the entire purpose behind the purchase of this item. Buy the fuse and get a free spare holder for a lower current fuse/cable combination. Overall: I'm NOT providing a test of the pass/fail ability of the fuse. I don't feel like creating that big of an arc from a car battery. With that said, if the fuse is manufactured correctly it should work fine. So - 10/10, Would buy again. (UNLESS I happen to find a 500A fuse that costs less at the exact moment of purchase)

There are many other options, but this does the three things a fuse holder must do. It holds the fuse. It connects to the cables. It prevents metal to metal contact. I doubt it'll take much heat, so don't do something stupid and mount it on the engine. I'm using it near the battery in the cable going to my winch with a 500 amp fuse. I've seen several opinions that a fuse is useless on a winch. But, my battery can provide over 700 amps, and the winch takes under 400 amps. So, if there's a catastrophic failure in the winch or power cables the fuse should blow before the Jeep catches fire. Maybe.
