This is a great product. I was impressed in so many ways. The cleaner power is great.My carpets looked relatively clean with a few patches in heavy areas, but I decided to give it a test drive anyway. The cleaner did a fantastic job. I was amazed at how much hidden dirt it pulled out. It also did a great job on grimy areas. I had to buy some additional cleaning fluid since the supplied one is a sampler size.The overall design is very well thought out too - intuitive and ergonomic. It's very easy to remove the water/detergent and the dump containers to replenish them. It's well built. Really like the large amount of both water and collection containers. Also like that they are separate. The detachable hose and heads are also well thought out, easy, and ergonomic.When using, be sure to lookout for when the dump tank is too full. It'll sound different because an orange cap pops up and suction almost entirely stops. That means it's time to empty the dump container. If you don't, you may keep spraying while not pulling back and the carpet lightly floods. Just empty it and run over the soaked areas again. It'll pick up extra water and you'll see the flow again.Definitely recommend.

Listen folks, no matter which model you get, Hoover is the BEST in every catagory!!!! This machine has unbeaten suction to get ALL that liquid up. I tried another brand and ended up with wet rugs that took forever to dry!! With Hoover, whatever you lay down you'll SEE return, in the lower tank. These machines also allow you to RINSE your rug!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!! You wouldn't wash your clothes and not rinse them, right? Any soapy residue left in your rug is a magnet for dirt. You can put hot water in this machine. Another importantfactor! In my last machine, whose name starts with a B, you're told not to do that!!! Well I did, and that cheap, thin top tank turned permanently foggy. Hoover's tanks are thick sturdy quality and they encourage you to use hot water. Yes, you do alot of filling up and dumping out, but thank goodness because that tells you that you're getting your rug really clean. So let's not be lazy folks, you don't do this daily, so stop complaining about fill/empty. This machine is worth the effort and gets your rugs super clean! And here's a tip: don't go crazy with the soap. Many times a hot water and vinegar rinse is all you need to tidy up.

Updated February 19, 2022. This is my 5th unit. I ordered on Monday Feb 7 and received Wednesday Feb 9th. I called the Hoover line and talked to a representative on Thursday Feb 10th. I pointed out the concern on this newer model the four release tabs for the brush release are missing (engineering upgrade) which it very hard to service the brushes when they get dirty.. When I used the machine for the first time to clean the carpet I noticed that the plunger was popping up way too soon, thus eliminated the dirty water vacuum pick up. Thus I had to stop and restart several times that were unnecessary and time consuming. This was a lack of engineering.This is the newest Model which needs some fine tuning. I was very disappointed. Overall is does a good job of cleaning however.Manufacturing Engineer from GM OhioP.S. I have been using a Dollar General cleaner call Fabuloso (dark purple color with Lavender scent) very low foam, Plus it is very inexpensive. I have been using the product for over 10 years.I also added weight to the plunger so that it does not plunge up too soon. Just part of engineering fine tuning. Now I do not have to stop and empty so often. The fifth unit came on 2-18-2022. It performed wonderfully. The reason I keep one working unit on each floor of my house.Up dated again on 2-20-2022.I decided to wire the plunger to keep the airway open. It works much better. the foam and/or dirty water does not go down the inlet. I make sure that I empty the used water every new tank of water and soap.P.S. I just realized that amazon show two models in Red with the same Model Number. One comes with the red Hoover matt and the other one does not. I ordered and received the used one as an additional back up for a better price. Received it in excellent new condition, it was repackaged but did not have the red Hoover matt.These are good machines, my older ones wore out due to motor failure and/or the plastic swirl plastic casing breaking up into small pieces.

This is my second Hoover carpet cleaner. My last one was purchased about 13 years ago. I don't have much carpet, just area rugs; but I wanted to also clean my furniture, and this has several good attachments, including a scrubber and a stair cleaner, if you have carpeted stairs. It also has a rubber mat, to keep the cleaner on so no draining on your floors. Here are the improvements. 1. It is lighter. You can purchase a really light cleaner; but no attachments. 2. The machine itself can be cleaned. This may sound odd; but my previous model's dirty water holder could not be sufficiently cleaned. And after using it a few times, it grossed me out because I felt like I was cleaning carpet with a dirty machine. 3. It really does clean better. The trick with any carpet cleaner is to use minimal soap, because soap can make the carpet dirty faster. I first try using the rinse (just water) and only if needed do I use a bit of soap. This model really sucks up the water. 4. This model also cleans hardwood floors. So, I am really pleased with my purchase; and I think I covered the cost of professionally cleaning a few rugs and my dining room chairs, with only one use.
