Excellent broad overview
The author draws from her vast personal and professional experience to offer a very broad look at all kinds of experiences, ranging from simple intuition to trance, in a very balanced approach. The book also leads the reader in asking themselves questions about their own psychic functioning, with suggestions on how to explore further their unique capabilities. I sent a copy to my daughter and teenage granddaughter.

Wonderful, considered and insightful
Fantastic book detailing the science of channeling in a very approachable and warm exposition. If you have a slightly open mind you will appreciate this very thorough book. It definitely changed my personal view of channeling. I come from a long science career and never considered the possibility that psi phenomenon could be real. I now realize that was my own rigid limited view.

Valuable and necessary
I highly recommend The Science of Channeling to anyone approaching the subject as a field of study or personal practice. The book seems to embrace almost any type of psychic functioning as examples of channeling. Practitioners of remote viewing, for example, would probably deny that they are channeling. On the other hand, they consult the subconscious for meaningful mental impressions about the assiged viewing target. Some of the content they uncover could originate in other minds or the viewer's expanded self, and may thus qualify as channeled material. For a book intensively devoted to channeling, I was surprised to see no entry for "channeling" in its otherwise excellent glossary. The book also contains few actual examples of channeling. There are passing mentions of famous channelers such as Jane Roberts, Esther Hicks, Eva Pierrakos, Carla Rueckert and Judith Skutch.Rather than simply offer a survey of the field, this is really more of a handbook, returning again and again to questions for the reader's self-inquiry and encrouraging self-study rather than perhaps study of others' channeled works. The book's extensive footnotes and references are a gold mine. It makes clear that channeling is a legitimate subject of scientific research.

enjoying
I enjoyed the book, I feel more whole and at rest after reading it. As soon as I started reading I implemented some new daily routines in my life I found in the book. More routines will definitely follow and I’m certain all of them will make my life more easy and more importantly also the lifes around me.

Science w/o statistics?
The book has some interesting information and reporting of research, however; it blatantly lacks statistics. I’m only on page 67, but all the research results up to and including this page are vague. Other books about psi research, such as Entangled Minds from ION’s chief scientist Dean Raiden, include the statistical numbers of the results. This author reports results with sentences such as, “Overall, the mediums were accurate more than expected by chance,” or “ The mediums did do better on the at-home task than they did in the lab.“ I’d like to see the statistics to know how much better they did. The title of the book is The Science of Channeling. Isn’t science generally reliant on statistics for proof of valid research and results? She reports channeled information material from the automatic writing of a very prolific and influential channeller in Brazil. The author writes, “They found 99 items of verifiable information, and 98% of these items were rated as ‘clear and precise fit.’” The author fails to indicate 99 out of how many items. Again, the reported results are vague.

Excellent coverage of topic, well documented with citations.
Very relevant and informative for the serious-minded investigator. Fills a need for well-documented and controlled experimental investigation. I especially liked the citations of the investigations so that I can (hopefully) follow up on certain areas of the field (providing the research is accessible).

Interesting book
I think this is a great book where there are several studies mentioned about channeling and ESP and some suggestions. I really enjoy that the author shares her story related to the subject too. It really got me hooked and read it in a few days.

I Like the Science Behind This Phenomenon
If Channeling interests you this book is very informative and science based. I love learning how science explains and can exist with "woo woo" (slang for all things metaphysical!!)

So lala

This book is very basic
You may enjoy this book if you have no previous knowledge. If you have some knowledge itis likely that this book will disappoint you. I struggled to finish it and was bored until the end. Therefore, as I learned nothing new it was a waste of money.
