Made me a fan of Spyderco lockbacks!
This knife was the one that changed my mind about lockbacks! I had always wondered why fans of Spyderco lockbacks liked them so much. Growing up in the 70's and 80's when the old Buck lockback was the thing, I always thought they were old fashioned and outdated. BUT, because Spyderco offers most of their lockbacks in K390 (my favorite blade steel) I decided to give it a try... Well, I was WRONG! And now own EVERY Spyderco lockback that the offer except for the Police 4. I also didn't like the FRN scales as I thought they were "cheap". Again, I was WRONG! They offer superior ergonomics and grip, dry or wet, to ANY of my other scale materials. So, if you like the PM2, are willing to give the back lock a try, I do recommend this knife. Essentially the Stretch 2 is a PM2 with thinner, slicier blade stock, better ergonomics and grip, and is more ambidextrous than the compression lock. I actually find the Stretch 2 in my pocket while my PM2 stays in the drawer more times than not. And let's not forget the K390! Talk about holding a screaming sharp edge for a loooong time! Get you some!

Great BIG knife that doesn't kill your wallet.
Spyderco's Stretch 2 with K390 steel is just a great all around knife. It's classic back lock reminds you of your first knife, for some of us older folk, and it's worry free while you're working with it. Spyderco has given us this model in K390 steel, which will let you work all day without worrying about your knife getting dull, and the FRN scales with their textured pattern will not let it slip in your hand wet or dry.Pictures speak louder than words a lot of the time, so I have it with my Para 2 and Para 3 for eyeballing the size of the knife. I don't know if I captured the size of the Stretch 2 next to, or on top of my Para 2, but I wouldn't want to bet on the size difference. The Stretch 2 is just such a great knife for all of us on a tight budget, but we need a knife that will last us for a long while for work, and for our down time. This is my 3rd Spyderco in K390 steel, I have a Delica 4 with SpyderEdge, and I haven't had to give it much more than a cleaning, and those teeth are still biting sharp. K390 steel sharpens up with just a touch from a ceramic rod, you can get a good one on Amazon if you don't have one, and it will only set you back around $20 to $30 bucks or so, and you will be surprised at how your other knives respond well to a ceramic sharpener if you've never used one before.

Good knife
Arrived sharp and in new condition. The action was stiffer than some other spyders I have.

Really Great Knife
Reminds me of the Para 2 but much smoother in hand. Blade is super sharp and thin. Will be an excellent EDC along with my other Spyderco classics. Added a Blue Lynch deep pocket clip. Wipe the blade after use - will Patina on you or possibly start some rust. Use EDC-I to protect the blade.

Favorite everyday carry
I have always really enjoyed Spyderco knives. They have the best grind angles, especially for everyday tasks. I bought the Stretch 2 mostly for the K390 steel. It has not disappointed. Great steel, really nice ergonomics, light weight. Slices like a monster. I just wish as most people do that the price was a little lower. Its a lot of money for a plastic handled knife. But I still buy them, so theres that. For know it has taken the place of the Benchmade super freak. I just really like the way this knife slices.

The style of the Stretch and function of K390 is top of the line.
Awesome knife. K390 steel and the Stretch knife is my new favorite over dozens of pocket knives.
