Very durable material; excellent gloves
The "Material 4X" that these gloves are made of is pretty amazing. I looked back at my purchases, and five pairs of these have lasted me just over three years, using them five days a week at work. That's about 7 1/2 months per pair. I've been impressed with them since my first pair back then, and the quality and construction does not seem to have changed at all since that time. The material these gloves are made from has amazed me from my first pair. The "Material 4X" is very, very tough and durable and has never once worn through, and only a couple small holes have ever developed in the black material. As other reviewers have said, when they fail, it's the stitching that starts slowly letting go, usually my right index or inside pinky fingertip first. I put about a 1/4 inch cut in the palm of my current pair months ago and it hasn't gotten any bigger. This Material 4X is really something. Also, I seem to have long thumbs, because most gloves do not have long enough thumbs to fit me right, but these gloves do. They fit better than any other glove I've used. I have bigger hands (not giant, but big) and the XL size fits just right. A little snug when new, but within a couple days of use they stretch and then fit great and are super comfortable for the months until I wear them out. The "Fast-Fit" feature is great. I don't like gloves with the velcro strap at the wrist for daily use. Too much work to get on and off as frequently as I do that. These go on and off quick and easy, and the Fast-Fit is actually the reason I bought my very first pair of these...easy on and off. They're not waterproof or resistant at all, and if you touch something that's wet (which semi trailers often are) the gloves get wet. But being synthetic material, they dry very fast. A few minutes laid over the defrost or heater vent in the truck and they're dry, and the exposure to moisture doesn't seem to shorten their life at all. Pairs last just as long in the winter (more wet days) as they do in the summer. They're a good mid-weight too, being protective from cold metal and cold air in the winter, but not too hot on warm summer days. They provide good feel of whatever you're handling, like small nuts and bolts, pens or pencils, etc. I replaced a tiny light bulb in the turn signal/marker light on the fender of my truck just this morning, and did the whole job with these gloves on. I'll keep buying these gloves for as long as they keep making them. I just love 'em. Best every day work gloves for my purposes that I've ever found. If you're someone who doesn't wear gloves every day but wants a pair to have around the house for when you need them, these will probably last for years, maybe even a lifetime, depending on how often you wear them and how you use them.

Best gloves for a mechanic. Hands down ;)
Very durable and comfortable. I use these gloves everyday while working on cars and trucks as a professional mechanic. I have tried many different types of gloves and really don’t like to wear anything other than nitrile disposable gloves because how quickly finger dexterity is lost with thicker gloves. These gloves however do not seem to affect fine motor movement nearly as much. The 4x material really does a good job of not interfering with that type of work. They are also (obviously) a lot more durable than a disposable glove. Another plus is that they clean up very well. A little simple green and some gritty soap.....then just wash them like you would wash your hands (with the gloves on). Rinse with hot water and let them dry out. I have a spare set to use while the others are drying. Saves a time of money over disposable gloves as well.

Great all around glove.
These gloves have exceeded my expectations for the price. I do tree work for a living. These gloves have held up to climbing, cutting and trimming trees. The only part that has fallen apart after a month and a half has been the one hole where I got caught on a fence. These have become my top choice over their traditional fast fit gloves. Working in the winter months in the Midwest I wear these over insulated gloves due to the fact they have great dexterity while keeping my hands just warm enough to keep working. Once I stop working they go in my pocket and thicker gloves come out because these do not offer warmth. Pros: Durable Good grip Easy to get on Decent poke protection from thorns Cons: Become wet easily Are not warm

Overall ok.
Overall I like it. Only one tiny problem - probably gloves differ from model to model, but I always use size M. These seem to run smaller, so they need to be stretched. Now it fits well, but it's a bit tight. As I work with cables mostly it’s hard to say something about robustness after one week. After 21 days I can say they probably will not withstand more than 2 months. I'm working only with cables and somehow I ripped them. Photos attached. Basically, the problem is in the weak material between fingers which rips faster than the palm area.

Last Pretty Well
These aren't winter gloves. They're everyday hand protection. They fit well and they're durable.

Excellent gloves
I'm constantly looking for better gloves for use in dog training. Over the years I've spent an ungodly amount of money on this obsession. So far, I'm very happy with these gloves. Super comfortable fit, not too bulky, not too tight. Easy to put on, no stupid Velcro straps. They're holding up very well so far. After a few months, sure there are signs of wear but no tear. Recommended.

Very comfortable
I work outside running heavy equipment and these I wear all day and they are very comfortable. Possibly the best gloves that Mechanic's makes.

4X Gloves are the ONLY durable Gloves that the Mechanix brand makes
These are the the only gloves from the Mechanix brand that I would suggest you should use. The material used in the regular Mechanix gloves aren't suited for hard use, as they wear out within just a few days, especially if they get even slightly wet. But these 4X material gloves do not wear out for several months. I bought these as a replacement for my old pair of 4X gloves. The material used for the palm is durable and somewhat water resistant. Recomended for light manual labor work. The stiching might come apart after a while, but I'm good at sewing them back together.

These are an nicely made pair of gloves at a reasonable price. So far i've used them for nearly 8 months at least a few times per week. The fit is very comfortable (obviously that can vary depending on the individual - check the size guide) -- but for me the large fits very nicely. They're soft and flexible which helps with finger dexterity on the more fiddly job, but the out fabrics appear to be tough enough not to tear or fall apart at the site of a semi sharp edge! The materials appear to be holding up well to the job and although it does stain that doesn't impact the durability of the fabric. They probably can be washed, but who's going to do that! They're meant to get dirt and be used well. I've used them for a variety of jobs from general DIY, Basic Mechanic jobs, chopping wood etc -- if they continue to hold up to regular use without ripping or falling apart within a year or two I'll buy another pair. Delivered quickly & minimal wasted packaging.
