Kuroko's Basketball, Vol. 2: Includes Vols. 3 & 4 (2)

This was purchased as a gift. Was quickly received, in fantastic shape, and the receiver was super excited and quickly read it. Would recommend.

This volume contains the Seiho and Shutoku games from the Inter High prelims. I love Shutoku (OK I love every Generation of Miracles team, but Shutoku is my #1, followed by Tōō for whom we see a brief preview in V4). The games are super exciting and there are plenty of funny moments across all the teams. The art is not as good as it will eventually be in this series but I can see improvements over volumes 1 and 2.

Volumes 3 and 4 cover two epic games for Seirin: advanced teams from Seiho and Shutako schools. Both teams have an edge and are considered the North and South Kings. In order to win, Seirin will have to pull out a full surprises of their own - and rely on more than Kurko's speed in the process. At the same time, they have to find the stamina to survive two very tough matches.Kuroko's Basketball continues to be an enjoyable sports themed manga. The characters are exuberant and livery without ever really taking themselves too seriously. Fujimaki knows how to draw out the anticipation and enjoys throwing in the shounen staple of 'power ups' for the characters.This volume introduces some good adversaries for our crew (including one who can actually 'see' Kuroko wherever he is!). One thing is for sure, the games will be very close.Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

I don't think I could actually explain how happy i am that my favourite manga has now been translated into english. I've loved this series since it was first released in Japan, and have avidly followed each update and its wonderful to finally have the physical book on my shelves! The print is nice and clean, we're not losing much in terms of expression or storyline with the translation, which can sometimes happen, and overall I am extremely happy with the purchase. Looking forward to buying each update as they are released! (Just wish they'd hurry up and dub the anime so I can have the DVD on my shelves too!)
