Instinct Limited Ingredient cat food
My cat loved this food. Unfortunately, her vet changed her food to a prescription diet to help her flush out her kidneys. I now order from the vet's office.

Great product
My cat is very limited on the proteins he can tolerate, and turkey is the one he has no issues with.He is feed a homemade raw diet with a completer.Occasionally I feed him canned food. He LOVES this Instinct Limited Ingredient Turkey and has no tummy issues.I love the ingredients and feel good about feeding him this brand.I have reviewed many other top name brands and find this one seems to have the best limited ingredients on the market.

Very poor quality control
There is currently a huge shortage in canned prescription pet food which is why my vet recommended this brand since it is a single source protein. My cats seem like like the taste of this and even prefers it over the Royal Canin PR, but unfortunately the quality control of this product leaves a lot to be desired. The first can I opened up was super watery with the texture of baby vomit. The product smelled fine so I drained it and fed the solid portion to my cats - they ate it up fine. I also noticed that the food contained numerous small fragments (appears to be bones? but it's fragile enough where I can crush it with my fingers). I made sure to go through the entire can and pick out any larger pieces to so that it was safe for my cats. The second can I opened, I had to do a double take. I understand that there is peas in this formula but I didn't think that it would be that whole peas (counted about 6) would be part of this. Again this had the bone fragment issue and was not as wet as the first can but still pretty goopy (think about a 6 on the cat stool chart) with clusters of fat on top. I've bought many "lower" end brands of canned food and have never seen issues like that, and this products is pretty dang pricey compared to those. I'm already dreading about having to open up the 3rd can for dinner tonight and seeing what other surprise they have in store for us. Just the inconsistency in texture and content between the two cans really makes me feel uneasy about their quality control/assurance, this is much more than a "slight variation" in between batches type of issue . This is so far the only canned single source protein that I have found to be widely available so I will continue feeding my cats this mixed with the prescription food, but as soon as the prescription food is available again they will go fully back on that. My cats have ran the gamut in terms of trying novel proteins and hydrolyzed proteins so this rabbit is kind of all that is left for us to eat. If your pet have other options, I would stay away from this.

Cats loved it but made us go broke
We originally started the rabbit formula because one of our cats has extreme food allergies, as well as digestive issues that causes her to vomit after just about every meal. For our cats issues, the rabbit formula worked quite well. We saw a drastic improvement in her hair loss as well as reduction in the frequency of her vomiting. However, because there was no real effective way to keep our 2 cats out of one another’s bowls - especially when one didn’t eat all their food & the other one would scavenge off that bowl - they had to be on the same diet. We tried separating them but it was a huge struggle & one always managed to get into the others bowl. My cats are picky eaters, but loved this so much they gobbled it up most of the time. After a few months went by, we quickly realized how completely and unreasonably expensive it was to feed both our cats the rabbit diet. They were costing us more than our human family of three, and that’s when it dawned on us that we couldn’t keep up with the cost vs small number of cans you got for the price.I could see this working for just one cat, or if you had hundreds $$$ to invest monthly to feed 2+ cats - but that was not the case with us and we sadly had to discontinue the rabbit formula. We kept them on the same brand and tried turkey because it was more affordable, which made our allergy ridden cats issues go out of control so we had to discontinue use of that flavor. We are now on the chicken and our cat is doing ok with it, but she’s also on a combo of other meds as well to help her. Also just to note: we tried all the vet recommended brands from science diet to various other prescription diets and our cats hated them all, until we found this brand. It’s a great brand, it’s just extremely pricey - which is the main drawback in my opinion.

Car approved, easy on delicate stomachs
Our cats really enjoy this food! Our 17-year-old cat has IBS and often struggles with digestive issues, so finding something that agrees with her has been a challenge. We were specifically looking for a limited-ingredient option without the hassle of making it ourselves—and this seems to be the winner! Not only does our senior girl tolerate it well, but our other cats love it too.
