Just what the Dr ordered!
So, I ordered 2 of these to boost the air flow into my daughters bedrooms. Living in a tri-level house in the south, the upstairs bedrooms can be extremely difficult to cool. After installing these into the duct work, their rooms are the coolest in the house! In fact, I have to keep them turned all the way down to keep from freezing them out! I have read several posts that mention the noise level. Here's what I found. My oldest daughter's room has rigid, metal duct work. It has excellent air flow, but the metal transmits sound very efficiently. That being said, the fan is about 8 feet from the floor register and the sound is no louder than a typical fan you would have in the bedroom. She's had up to 3 fans going in there at once to try and cool off her room, so it's a non-issue for her! My youngest has flexible duct where I replaced it several years ago and you can't hear the fan at all. Overall, I am very pleased with these units. They work as advertised, maybe even better! The noise is very tolerable and were very easy to install. My only regret is I didn't order them sooner!

Fan is AWESOME and SO Quiet
This is the 3rd fan I have used and so far, this fan kicks butt! I installed my fan on May, 20 2018, as my outtake air flow on my 4' x 8' grow tent. Fan moves massive amounts of air and you can really fine tune the flow with the adjustable air flow. Fan has been running 24/7 for about 6 months now and runs as if its brand new still. In fact, I loved this fan so much, that I purchased another fan (Same exact fan), to use as my intake. My last intake fan was so loud and this fan is ridiculously quite compared to others. 2 days ago, I was sweeping my backyard and went over to check it because I wasn't sure it was still running, it was so quiet... no joke! Highly recommend this fan to anyone!!

Decent Unit for the application.
Strange thing is we can barely hear it in the living room - just a few feet through the wall, but outside the sound travels through the air for several dozen yards -- not loud or unpleasant, but noticeable. Housing does not lend itself to attaching with self-taping sheet metal screws. It looks and feels like some sort of plastic and I was afraid to use screws and instead held it in place with duct tape (I have no way to take advantage of the mounting "foot") - I was surprised at how gentle the air flow from the outlet feels, I had expected more turbulence. I found the speed control unnecessary but could not find a suitable module without it. One word of caution when ordering this product. It may be worth a little extra money to specify UPS or FedEx - the default shipping was USPS and the delivery person left it sitting on top of my rural mail box - fortunately no one decided to help him/herself to a free gift. If accepting USPS be sure to follow the tracking data and be prepared to "camp out" at your mail box on the day you expect it.

Need 24/7 air flow
I have used several months 24/7 and still working. I installed in rectangular ply-wood box (about 46" long) lined with foam rubber and packing peanuts for noise suppression. I thought I could use the rheostat to reduce speed and sound by buying one size bigger. No. It is more quiet on full speed; as a result, I have more capacity than needed. It draws air from crawl space creating a negative air pressure. Odor and radon etc. are expelled by exterior vent (8" coil pipe to crawl space door with 8" hole) instead of migrating to living space causing odor etc. Suspended my "box" with bungee cords to reduce sound and ran proper gauge drop cord.

Great Booster Fan
I bought the 8 inch booster fan with ABS plastic body to get more air into the bedroom suite. It moves a lot of air at full speed and a little noisy when I tested it out before installation but read the reviews and someone said the noise is not bad once installed. The person was right. I can’t really hear it over the noise from the AC. I hooked it up directly to my AC with a relay so it will turn on and off with the AC. It works really well and I only need to run the fan between medium and high speed setting. Glad I made the purchase.

Nice affordable exhaust fan (6")...used for 50 watt laser exaust
Whats not to like at this price. ..? I installed this on my 50 watt Co2 laser as an upgraded exhaust fan. The factory installed fan sucked...well no actually it barely sucked....but this ones SUCKS and you can adjust the suck factor...even better. Seriously though this has way more CFM than the stock 6" exhaust fan on these import laser and is adjustable so you can dial in the right amount of cfm. I can run the laser with the top open and still not have any smell or smoke leaking out. I was able to slide the input side of the fan right over the output flange on the laser..perfect fit. Since this is plastic it weighs way less than a solid metal fan of the same rating....and significantly more affordable. Perfect.

Loud Fan
This fan become extremely loud after one year in service. Moves a lot of air but is making a lot of high freq noise. I do not recommend it for indoor use.

Quiet, solidly built
I ordered this fan as a replacement for a 1950-vintage kitchen exhaust fan mounted at the base of a roof vent. The opening had a diameter 1/2 " larger than this fan, so it took quite some engineering to mate the new fan to the old mounting. But the new fan itself is an excellent product and all about it worked flawlessly. It is also rather quiet when considering its considerable air volume, larger than the fan it replaced.

This is a great workhorse of a fan. I am using it to exhaust my laser engrave workspace. The variable speed control on the power cord is very handy. Although the variability of speed is is limited. This fan is perfect for laser engraver users. I highly recommend this fan.
