Torres - translator, Hye Young Im - translator, Ki Hong Lee, Yen Audio: Audible Books & Originals Review: Love this story and many of the characters - I have read this story multiple times, and it is as good each time. I don’t want to say too much, because i don’t want to give anything away. There are multiple characters to gravitate towards, so it is easy to enjoy. While the main character is ‘kinda’ overpowered, at the same time, he isn’t since he dies or almost dies multiple times, and does struggle here and there. I really enjoyed this. Review: Well paced, dungeon roaming excitement. - Really enjoyed reading this. It’s not a super deep think read (other than trying to keep the Jin’s sorted but that’s likely a me issue.). Time to go get the next one.

Enjoyed it
As of the time of writing this, I have watched the anime and wanted to see if the novel give more detail. I have enjoyed the experience and plan on getting the rest of the series.

Good read for fans
Entertaining and very much consumed like popcorn. However, do not expect detailed character or world descriptions. You'll want the manwha or anime to fill in mental images. There are also grammatical mistakes in the translation but not too distracting. Again, it's a fun read, and I plan to finish the series. However, don't expect writing or styling like George RR Martin or Stephen King.

Hooked from Chapter One!
Man, this book is awesome! I heard about Solo Leveling but never read the novel, and now I'm hooked. The story is super cool, and the main guy, Jinwoo, gets so powerful. Couldn't put it down once I started.

Five out of Five Stars!
Solo Leveling, Vol 1 is the start to what has easily become my biggest obsession of 2021. I read the webcomic, all current 150 chapters, over the course of a week, and when I discovered it was based on a light novel I knew I had to read it immediately. Translated from Korean, Solo Leveling tells the story of Sung JinWoo, the weakest hunter of all time. He can't even go through E-Rank Gates (the easiest of all dungeons) without getting wounded. People look down at him, pity him, and dismiss him. He's tired of being so weak, but he can't stop raiding otherwise he wouldn't be able to support his sister or pay his mother's hospital bills. He has to keep fighting, putting his life on the line, despite his despair. One day, during your run-of-the-mill Dungeon raid, his party is caught up in a Double Dungeon (a secret, much more powerful Dungeon hidden within the weak one) and people start dying. Sung JinWoo survives this ordeal, but he's changed. He sees Stat screens and quest logs and hears a voice call him the Player. He can increase his stats, gain new abilities, and level up. He wanted to be strong, and with the System in place, he can finally achieve his dream. I cannot begin to describe to you how much I love this story. There's a large difference between the novel and the comic, both sharing scenes the other doesn't have. You get insight in the novel you don't get in the comic, a slightly closer look at Sung JinWoo's inner monologue and his opinion on the things and people around him. You get a more personal look at his life, and it humanizes him just a bit more than the comic does. I'm so glad I decided to read this novel, as it helps to satiate my Solo Leveling appetite while I wait for the comic to update. When the next book in the series releases, you know I will definitely be there to purchase and read it!

I am fan of the anime Solo Leveling that ist based on the Manga, based on the Manhwa, based on this light novel. As the anime will take some time to continue I thought reading the base Story could really be interesting. And I enjoyed it really much. Read book 1 and 2 so far, 3 and 4 are allready ordered. It really gives a better feeling or understanding of charakter motives and background than the abstraction level that is done in anime and it has the right pace of story progression.

The story I like very much. Just the state of the book that was delivered to me. There were torn pages. Even the cover is torn. As a book lover, i like my books in prestine conditions. No folds. No tears. This is unacceptable. It is not because of the transit but the state of the book before the delivery.
