Works great!
Have a trailer hitch connected to 2'' - 1 1/4'' adapter which is then connected to bike rack. Had to get two of these in order to stop the wobbling between the trailer hitch & extender and then between the extender & bike rack. Bit expensive since I had to buy 2 to make it all completely stop wobbling but it's sturdy, easy to use, and gives peace of mind.

Get what you pay for - Stability
Although my name is on the review it's better that my husband writes it. My husband has a 2006 Mercury Mountaineer Premium with factory hitch. My husband is a retired tennis instructor that stays in shape with daily work outs on the tennis courts. He uses a cart with a ramp that fits into the hitch. The problem was it would rock and sway once he put his equipment on it. This made the SUV sway due the load shift.Husband:It looks crazy with old electric ball machine that weighs about 15-20lbs and a generator that weights when full of gas about 140 lbs. hence the ramp and a ball cart with about 80 balls. Plus more tennis stuff inside to add more weight. Now the SUV can carry a lot more weight but when the weight is extended 2' pass the rear bumper the load to the vehicle increases and when the load shifted so did the SUV.My friend showed me what he uses for his bike rack and I found one on Amazon that was few dollars less than the LIBERRWAY 304. It worked pretty good but still had some movement even with some shims in the receiver.Just couldn't get it tight enough. The last time I used it the U bolt stripped and that was that. Back on Amazon I searched and again there were plenty to choose from.Although I couldn't find the size of the U bolt I read in a review this one was 1/2". What I had was 3/8". When it arrived you could see how much beefier the U bolt was.Ok now since factory hitch has large safety chain rings that prevented the normal installation with the plate on the bottom, I had to mount it on top. As before I used a wooden wedged shim on the bottom of the receiver to add lift for a snugger fit.Now with the heavier U bolt I could apply more torque. I used a 3/8" with 7" handle ratchet with a 3/4" six point socket and applied all I pull I could muster. (I'm 71 and that ain't much) . Before I put the load on I stood up on the cart and bounced on the center and both sides. NO Movement. BTW I had 2 nuts the same size and added them as locking nuts along with the way stronger lock washers, just made me feel better.Any case, loaded up and headed for the courts. The road there is like a wash board. Upon my arrival and return I checked for movement, NONE. Made 7 trip to the courts and since I leave the gear on 24/7 drove around town and after a week still no movement.I strongly recommend this stabilizer. It's not the cheapest nor most expensive. It's the one that works best for me.Like the brother's said to Mikey " Try it - You'll Like It"

Garbage to gold
Received this tightener quickly and packaged well. At initial inspection looked to be of good quality material but looks can be deceiving. Placed this item on the hitch per the instructions. Every thing went well until I attempted to remove it. Either the U-bolt or one of the nuts had a defect in heat treatment or a slite defect in the thread that was amplified when the nut was tightened. The end result was me using a 1/2" drive breaker bar with cheater pipe to remove and consistently snap the U-bolt off. As best I can tell the nut threads almost bonded to the U-bolt thread making it impossible to remove without destroying it. The nut was not in anyway cross threaded onto the bolt. The threads above and below the nut are in perfect condition. The unit was installed for approximately 4 hrs. Save your money and buy something else.Update 12JUN17The company responded via email to my initial review with in hours of posting. Karen said in the email they would send me a new unit. It arrivved today. Problem it was only the plate with no U-bolt or any other hardware. Very disappointed. No change to my initial rating. And failed at customer service too.Update 22 June 2017I have changed my review to a 3 star for the following reasons:The manufacturer has now sent me a new tightener complete with all components! The nuts have been upgraded to a better quality stainless steel it seems. The manufacturer was very responsive to my reviews and email and has worked above and beyond to ensure I received a good quality part. Their response to my negative reviews took literally hours and they seemed genuinely concerned that my experience with their product was a bad one.Have not installed the new part yet but will up date on its use when I do.Also for those using part. You cannot use an impact or you will run a high risk of ruining the part. Hand tools only and an anti seize or some oil on the threads before installing will go a long way to prevent galling the threads. Stainless on stainless is very susceptible to galling if over tightened.22SEP2017Well i am pleased to report that after the upgraded nuts and a drop of oil during each use this item performed very well. I have used it on my 20' boat trailer and numerous other trailers with no issues at all.

Seems to work fine for a bike rack
The hitch-mounted bike rack on my Subaru would rattle too much in city driving. This product did the trick. Rattle has quieted to about half of what it was. It holds the Saris bike rack insert very tight to the 2inch recvr. Took 2 minutes to install. Mine was missing the washers so I'm only giving it 4 stars. Most people have these washers somewhere on the tool bench - if not the local HW store carries them for almost nothing.
