Children are often all the more eager to explore this world when they see adults using beauty products as it's just another form of the face painting they may be familiar with that transforms them into tiger or zebra. Understandably as adults we can get a bit nervous around the idea of make-up and small children - and not just because things could get very messy indeed. We're fully in favour of the pretend play but maybe not all the things that may go along with it. But we don't want to dampen their enthusiasm, when after all they're only copying what some of us adults choose to do. This lovely wooden beauty playset is the answer. Well made, it should prove very durable. There's a huge amount of play value to be had from the set. It can encourage creativity and imagination as well as developing fine motor skills. Children love to play with it and become very engaged. An impressive set, everything's child sized - very cute - and there's an awful lot to explore. Without any sharp or rough edges, without the hazards real electricals pose to young children or the worry of what may happen to carpets and wallpaper if children are free to experiment with powder and paint, there's a pink wooden hairdryer, a wide toothed 'comb', a long handled mirror, a powder puff, lipstick and nail varnish. I love the perfume atomiser and the pretend eyeshadow palette which opens up to reveal lots of colours. Everything in this set appears to have been well thought out. There's even a handy drawstring bag to stash everything in once playtime's over. Even the wood used to make this set is FSC certified. The price-point makes this a considered purchase but it's safe, solidly made and should last for years - so in my view, it's worth the money and is sure not to become the kind of toy children quickly tire of.

Purchased these for my granddaughter who is a year. She liked grabbing her mom’s makeup while she was getting dressed. So I saw these adorable little makeup bag for her to use to get fancy too. The quality is really nice, and well made. The details are actually pretty great, not gonna lie. I LOVE the fact they made a little bag for the little items to be carried in so they have there own “makeup”, it’s so cute! **Now my daughter does not let my granddaughter play with some of the items unsupervised. Some items could break off and be choking hazards. So, if you’re looking for a toy to just give a baby to play with unsupervised, this is NOT what you’re looking for. If you have toddlers who can play with toys and you teach them not to put them in their mouth, then they will totally love it.

Nearly every toy that my 3 girls have is from Le Toy Van. They are such beautiful toys that look stylish and timeless. I love that toys makeup/beauty set comes with a functional canvas pouch for storage. The nail polish bottle and the lipstick as well as the eyeshadow applicator are very small so if you have a small baby who thinks everything is chewable, maybe put those aside until you can trust they won't try to swallow it.
