Women's Loose Fit Washed Duck Sherpa Lined Jacket

This women’s Carhartt coat is hands-down one of the best outerwear pieces I’ve owned. I really love this coat! I received it on a day when the weather turned brutally windy and cold, and it kept me warm and comfortable. It fits true to size, and does have room underneath for layering. A big plus: two inside "security" pockets, and the pockets on the outside of the jacket are big enough, too. It looks good, it feels good, and is very well made.

Very nice jacket. Wife loves it. Just wish it was on sale but carhartt never goes on sale. Fits loose like it states. Metal zippers, no plastic anywhere. Hood draw string if you want it. Warm for working but not for holding still. This jacket with a sweater is perfect for anything below 20°F while moving around. Anything above that, just the jacket. I had attempted to purchase a womens wool lined Carhartt coat last winter on Amazon. It was a slightly different style with the rubbed waist band. It was out of stock. I kept it in my cart hoping it would come back in stock and when it did, I purchased. The item ended up getting canceled and I was back on the hunt. Locally it has been tough to find womens styles that are available in size small as well. Nothing in our area it seems, at any of the farm retail stores. I went back on the hunt again this year and found this here on Amazon and available. I am 5’7 and 125lbs. I chose the size small and it fits perfectly, with the ability to layer, but also fine with a teeshirt underneath. This style does not have the ribbed knit cuff at the waist like the sleeves have. The previous style I liked had that so I wasn’t sure if I’d like the way it fits and looks at the waist but I don’t mind it at all. It fits great over my carhartt coveralls. I’ve worn it with jeans and leggings as well and also fits and looks fine with those too. I have a little longer arms and the fit is perfect in arm length too. I have layered carhartt hooded sweatshirts underneath and the all over fit is still great. It’s the wool lining for me! I love love love the soft wool lining. It’s cozy and just a lot warmer feeling that the nylon fabric lining some of the womens styles have. There are a lot of pockets, along with those that zip closed, inside and out. We have a poultry farm and so far I’ve found the pockets to be helpful for my supplies, cell phone and keys while working. My cell phone doesn’t fall out when I’m bending and working like it often did with my old barn coat. Plenty of room in the pockets for my (larger) iPhone as well. The hood fits nicely and has drawstrings that can be tied but I haven’t even had to tie them. Just pull them a bit and the hood has stayed on even in the strong country wind. I’m super happy with this purchase. I’ve stayed warm in our recent negative temps, working outside for a long period of time. I’ve also worn this casually out running errands, to dinner and even to church. I would definitely recommend this carhartt coat. I’m glad the search is over!

For those just trying to gauge what size to get: I am 5ft 5in and 140lbs (30” waist, 35” chest, 38” hip/butt) and got a size Large so that I could fit a thick sweatshirt underneath as it gets in the negatives where I live. If you don’t care to have a hoodie under, just get your regular size. It sits at butt length on me. Review: I have never owned any Carhartt despite all my family using their stuff so I finally took a chance and got this jacket since my current coat is not satisfactory. It is thick but not annoyingly thick to the point you can’t move easily. It is also lined with a greyish brown Sherpa in the trunk portion and the sleeves are just quilted. The pockets are a decent size for women’s clothing and I like that the breast pocket is big enough to fit my iPhone 16 with ease. This coat is definitely warm enough on its own so I don’t necessarily need a sweatshirt with it but I did order a size up just in case I do ever need both. The color is a bit different than the listing photos but I’m honestly not mad about it.

I absolutely am in love with this jacket. I live in Central Minnesota and our winters can be brutal and today it was 2 degrees outside with a windchill of -17 below and I didn't feel the cold at all when I was outside. I am truly amazed at how warm this coat keeps me. I love how deep the pockets are and that the zipper is metal and works fantastic unlike other coats and even Carhartt coats I have bought.

I really love this jacket. It’s warm enough to wear for shoveling snow, walking the dog or running errands in cold ny weather. my only complaint is the waist does not have any pulley strings or interior waist band. Cold winter wind will ride right up as if you don’t have a jacket on. Tucking in a shirt or sweater will help, but I shouldn’t need to do that. The jacket would be great otherwise. And yes Carhart has jackets with ribbed waist band, but I wasn’t going for that look. I like this look, but it really need to have the waist pull strings or inside ribbed waistband, similar to the inside wrist bands for this to be an even better jacket.

This is a very warm jacket if you layer. So cozy, it's my go to when I want to feel comfortable. Decent hood size. This jacket moves with you, it is 100% a work jacket. Size up for an over size fit.
