The best kind of bar soap in the world!
This stuff is really great. I've used it in the bath and it gets your skin very clean. I enjoy the scent. Well, I don't know if it's the scent of the soap or added fragrance. I think it's just the scent of the soap. Whatever, this soap doesn't give me a rash. It's very mild and gentle. That's exactly why I use it in my laundry. I buy the best variety pack in the world, which contains washing soda and borax, and I buy this soap. Here is the recipe:1 cup of washing soda1 cup of borax1 grated bar of this soapAnd grate it by hand for the best results. Use two tablespoons per load. Fill a downy ball with vinegar if you want. I don't usually, but it helps everything rinse clean. You might as well know that I don't use this stuff in the bath anymore. I don't know why. I guess people just change. I once used another soap for laundry because I couldn't get this, and it didn't work as well. Like Fels Naptha works, but unless you want your skin to start itching, I wouldn't use it. No.If you are a rashy kind of person, let me tell you what to do. Drink plenty of water and stop using chemicals on your body. When my little brother, who is the most environmentally conscious person I know, moved in with me, he insisted on using this laundry soap. I'm all like, hey, I buy the gentle stuff. He's like, whatever, make your own. It's so much cheaper. I'm like, whatever, it won't work as well and I want clean clothes. I said that because it's true. I want clean clothes. LOL And then my brother just made some and I'm like OMG it's a powder and I don't want to use powder detergent. So he goes, whatever, just do your laundry this way.FML but I have to say that I was so dumb about laundry soap. I am usually dumb about trying new things. This works better than anything. Like my clothes get very clean. They never have been so clean. Also, all the rashes on my back and neck are gone. And I'm not hurting the environment. I do not exaggerate. This is a remarkable soap.OH, I forgot to say that you shouldn't eat processed food.

Hard-Working & Long-Lasting - Hypoallergenic is not the Same as Non-Drying
This is an old-fashioned HARD-WORKING soap. "Castile" traditionally means a hard white soap. It's usually made with olive oil, but as the Kirk's label states, this is "coco" castile, made with coconut oil. I always have it in my house because there is no soap around that will get out blood stains and ground dirt and even grass stains like Kirk's Castile. I scrub Kirk's on the cloth by hand with cold water and rinse with cold water. Repeat if needed. It has always worked for me if I haven't already washed the fabric in a washer and dried it (which usually means the stain is set).As a hard soap, Kirk's makes a good lather and rinses clean. It is not an emollient soap - so if you are looking for a soap that will ease dry skin, this is not it. The advantages of NOT being emollient is that a bar lasts longer, it cleans without excess oils getting in the way of the cleaning process, and, as I wrote, it rinses cleanly with no "soft" residue for babying the skin. But because it is not emollient, this is not a soap if you have dry skin. I've read some unfavorable reviews on this page, and I can understand their frustration. It says right on the wrapper, "Ultra Gentle with No Drying Residue". The 2nd part is absolutely correct. The 1st part isn't, in my opinion, but that's why I LOVE Kirk's Castile. A person may be sensitive to an ingredient in the soap, but maybe there is difference between " hypoallergenic" and "lotion-y" or similar. We use it at the sink, but not in the shower/bath.I would not be without this soap for about 30 years now. A new bar is 3 5/8" long, 2 3/8" wide and over 7/8" deep. This is a big bar for some soapholders, 4 oz (113 gm) a bar.Kirk's is made in the U.S.A. Per the label: "Since 1839, Kirk's master soap makers have formulated this hypoallergenic skin care bar with all natural coconut oil. Unlike other national brands, Kirk's Original Coco Castile contains no animal by-products that can irritate sensitive skin. No synthetic detergents, like sodium lauryl sulfate, either."To each his own when it comes to soap, but I am a long-time fan of Kirk's.Happy Reader

Palm oil free vegan soap - finally!
You heard me - thatās right. Iām trying my best to be a palm oil free girlie out here but the machine of capitalism is apparently lubricated by the stuff. Go ahead - go to your supermarket and try to find a non-animal-fat-derived soap that doesnāt contain palm oil or anything with the word āpalmiticā or āpalmitateā in it. I dare you - what youāll find is that Kirkās is likely the only one. The stuff is great. Despite its old-school packaging, itās really something the principles of the modern world needs more of. Not that coconut fats are produced locally to me or anything, but hey itās a step in the right direction considering thereās no ethical consumption under capitalism. Then again, what am I doing on Amazon? Sis, your answerās as good as mine. I got better things to do rn so bye
