Like others said make sure EN is grounded
I spent a full frustrating night trying to get this to work. I drowned my sorrow with whiskey while i questioned if i really have what it takes to operate a stepper motor or if i'm too weak just like my father always said. Then this morning i read someone's comment saying enable needs to be grounded and it works perfectly. Great little shield!

Enable MUST be grounded
I fought this thing for an hour trying to get it to work and finally figured out EN has to be grounded, once I did that it worked fine.

Inadequate packaging. Stay away.
I ordered two boards in different shipments and in both the pins were mangled and bent. Do not buy this until the seller / shipper fixes their (nonexistent) packaging. Otherwise the boards seem to work fine after I replaced the pin headers.

Used with DRV8825 driver. Worked well.

Very poor construction. The dip switches for micro stepping were soldered onto the pcb but had fallen off by the time I received the board.
