Does this model suffer the problems of so many Nokia models in respect to the charging port?

Haven't had any problems with mine. Also holds the charge well.

What are the security updates and what happens after 2 yrs or is this an ever more subscription/throwaway world?

I get regular security updates but I'm sure I read someone they only last two years. Hope this helps. Good phone though. Basic but good. I've had no problems so far.
