Simple and perfect for the amateur runner.
This Garmin model is reasonably priced and does everything you need to track pace and distance. It connects perfectly to an iPhone and to Strava, giving more detailed route-tracing and emergency alert. If you don’t need every conceivable function but want a clear, useful display and good connectivity, this will do the job robustly and without breaking the bank.

Well chuffed 😀
Changed to this from an Apple Watch Series 9 and I absolutely love it! It’s brilliant for running and so simple to navigate once you find your way round. I do miss Apple Pay but it more than makes up for it by being a joy to use. Then there is the battery life! No more daily charging, it last 7-10 days, amazing. It links to Strava and I love the accompanying Garmin Connect app. One happy customer 🤗😀

Excellent sport watch
Excellent sports watch. It has all the basic features I need for walking, running, cycling, and gym workout. The Garmin Connect app is very good for reviewing your stats over time, and the Connect IQ app allows you to alter watch faces. The watch and app combination is very good for motivating you to do more. Highly recommended.

Good watch for walking/hiking
Bought this watch for walking rather than running. It works very well as a walking watch and the battery and coverage is excellent. Used it for three days walking in the Lake District on one battery charge and no lose of GPS signal. The temperature gauge is a bit low compared to the actual temperature but I didn't buy it as a thermometer. Can't give it five stars as the only elevation information given is after the walk has finished via the Garmin Connect app but there is no live information regarding height gained.

Brilliant - I love this watch
I couldn’t be happier with this product. It’s been a part of every day for the last three months. Having gotten back into training and physical fitness, this watch has been brilliant. It really keeps me motivated and gives me some good insights into watch I’m doing. Garmin app works brilliantly and syncs data quickly. It also connects to other fitness apps I’m using so I can collate and see my data together. The watch itself is compact and easy to use. You really can’t go too far wrong if you’re looking for something to track steps, sleep, heart rate, calories and your exercise whether that be running, treadmill, swimming etc. I charge this once a week and set recordings for events lately at a minimum for 5 days for week. For me this was a good priced smart watch for the functions. I would’ve liked a resistance/weight training recording option but I choose other for this. For my first smart watch this has been a winner. I will definitely go for a higher ranged garmin product in a few years but for now this is a very good starting point. It’s brilliant. The only thing which I would say, is I’m not sure how accurate the sleep recording is. On a couple of occasions I’ve noticed that I’m asleep according the watch data, when in fact I have been awake. Overall, if you’re looking for a starter fitness watch or buying your first, I’d recommend this to you.

Good entry level fitness watch.
Bought a returned / secondhand Forerunner 55 for £112 from reseller FairTech. Would happily buy from the reseller, again. I'm not a runner, I only intended to use the watch as not much more than a smart pedometer, really. However, as the watch is so lightweight I've just kept it on, so now have access to all sorts of data - average resting HR, sleep analysis, VO2 Max etc. - on the Garmin Connect app. The onboard GPS also appears to be far more consistent than the Polar + Google Maps apps I've used to record my walks before, too. The watch itself has several watch faces onboard, more online, some free. The data + layout for each activity you want to use it for can be customised independently. The interface is very simple to use, if not necessarily intuitive at first, and you can do most of what you want to do within a few key presses. I haven't got any more Garmin kit, but can see if I had the BP monitor, scales etc. it would all appear to be seamlessly integrated into the app. I guess that's pretty much a given, these days, but here's confirmation, for what it's worth.

An excellent watch for runners
Bought as a gift for my husband who is a runner. He absolutely loved it. A very good tracker for his upcoming London marathon and overall health activities too.

Easy to use and very budget friendly watch. I bought it to record tracks so I can see them on the map later. Now I am using it to reach my sleep, body battery, and stress levels. There are of course a lot of better options out there but far more expensive. I am very happy. One thing is that the strap could be a little bit longer.
