Very bright white but well balanced light. Not excessively blue. Once you get used to good daylight bulbs, you won't want to use lower color temperature lights for any kind of task or reading. The only disadvantage is that they keep you awake! I have put a few soft white bulbs back in the house to use when it is time to wind down for the evening. Back to these bulbs. These appear to be high quality lights. All 8 lamps arrived in good shape and worked great, despite slight abuse to the package by the delivery company. These were bright enough that I wired the pull switch in my fixture to turn off one bulb. One bulb replaces the two T12/40 bulbs just fine. When more light is needed for task lighting, a simple pull of the chain doubles the light. I painted an old fixture with a hammered paint giving it an antique brass appearance. I found some decorator chain with a similar appearance and turned it into a swag lamp. Industrial becomes designer piece! I am also using these to keep my herb garden alive indoors this winter. I assume that with the high color temperature and a color rendering index of 85 that they will have enough light in the critical ranges for photosynthesis. If anyone has test equipment to check that and buys these, that would be helpful info in their review.UPDATE: It has been about a week since I brought my plants indoors. They are definitely doing well. They were growing sideways toward the setting sun. Now they are growing upward to these bulbs.We also moved a succulent that was not growing well in the window. Under this light we could see it had grown in just a couple of days. I also noticed that people now gravitate to this formerly dark corner that everyone avoided before.

If you're comfortable with wiring then this will be easy for you to convert. Much brighter and faster start than the fluorescent tubes. One out of 12 tubes failed after a year, otherwise this is a 5 star review…all tubes failed within 16 months. The time these claim to last is not true. Fluorescent lasts longer.6/25/23 update: a second tube failed this week. So 2 out of 12 failed in a 14 months. I will be ordering a four pack for spares…but I highly doubt that 50 thousand hours life span is realistic. There are only 8,760 hours in a year so even if i left these things on the whole time it would not be anywhere close to 50k hrs advertised.7/19/23 Update: 3 more of the original tubes have failed this week. I no longer believe this is a bad couple of tubes. Its just plain false advertising. If you’re comfortable changing these out year over year for roughly a hundred bucks. Then these are for you. Remarkably..I suckered myself into buying another batch of tubes from the same manufacturer just to keep the tubes the same. Anyway. 50k hrs? No way.2 stars now.

Im disappointed in this product because Im experiencing tube failures in just a few months. Also, there doesn't seem as through there is any warrenty process. The improved light is great and it was very simple to change to the LED bulb.After contacting Barrina customer service my issue was resolved beyond my expectations. Their follow up on this problem went well beyond any experience I've ever had with a company. They stay behind their product and truly represent customer support and satisfaction. I recommend this company anyone because of the way they follow up with after sales action and problem resolution. Outstanding number one company's!

I have had mine about 3-4 years. Currently I have about 16 in use at different locations around my house. Mostly work shops and garages. I started buying these in 2018-2019. And now they are starting to burn out. About 4 in the last two months. I had a couple early failures and the company quickly replaced those. I will be buying more to replace the ones that have failed as they put out a nice light for my use. And I believe I got a reasonable value from them3/4/24 I have added another 16+units to my workshops and garages over the last year.. I have not had any DOA's on the last two batch's. I did have several more fail within the warranty period and they were quickly replaced. These lights are still my favorites for brightness, ease of installation, value, and a company that actually stands behind there product. I will continue to buy more as I replace more of the older fixtures with these. my next project will include installing some in my attics near the areas I access and store stuff

Loved these lights at first Changed wiring in existing fixtures to use these bulbs. Replaced a lot of old flourescent bulbs. The light was great, just what I needed but the are burned out already 14 months later. Did not get near the 50,000 hours promised. Need more now and need to get the same thing or rewire all the fixtures again! Very disappointing. Hoping it was a bad box. UPDATED 6/29/20 Originally purchased 3 boxes of 16 bulbs. To date 2 boxes have gone bad. After reviewing notes, I contacted Barrina from their website and received quick email response and 2 boxes of replacement bulbs. Now we see more are going out one little Led at a time, so the remaining bulbs show dead spots. We will likely need to get our third box replaced. Hope these replacements work for longer, customer service has been very good to work with!Now 1 year after replacements were installed we need to replace some of them. Wil try contacting the company to see if they will replace again. Do not want to put more expenses into bulbs that are promised to last a long time, but actually only last 1 year.

Very bright ,easy installation ,good price. Installed 14 two years ago and never had one fail yet. Had a lightfixture that had 8 standard fluorescent tubes and now only needs 2 LED tubes.

These light bulbs are great! I have had them in for a month and so far no issues. They turn on right away and no flickering.I installed them in my shop which is 16'x41'and has 12' ceiling. I installed eight 4' fluorescent fixtures which light up the entire shop perfectly for working in.

so far lights are bright and useful, very happy.. took time to convert but I am looking forward to lower energy costs this year.. talk to me in two and I can tell you more.
