LINDY 4 Way TosLink Digital Optical Audio Switch

Been using this daily for 4 years as part of my media center. Works flawlessly.The only issue I had was that the optical cover/door for the main optical cable (output) broke off a few years ago and it can get a little fussy getting that cable back in there, but once it's in you're set.For me this is a slight annoyance once every year or so. maybe in a future version they can make those little legs a little stronger/thicker.No audio cutoffs of any sort, no problem switching between inputs. I turn it off daily as part of my system but it's been left on for days with no issues.Another minor gripe I have is that the remote only has a power toggle (not separate on and off buttons), so when I use a media center remote to turn everything on or off, it can miss it. In which case I have to manually select to turn it on or off to re-sync it with the rest of my equipment.A great buy, I would very likely buy it again if needed.

This thing saves my entertainment-needy life! If you've got multiple consoles or gadgets and want to get the best possible audio use, you need one of these. HDMI audio pass through is ok, but it doesn't deliver a true surround signal like TosLink optical does.

Purchased because my Samsung TV does not pass Dolby out via the optical out if the source is HDMI.Works great with Sonos Playbar and Sub, can now use Dolby 5.1 on all my inputs. I do wish it had auto sensing and switching but for the money it's a really great bit of kit.

Désirant raccorder en direct 4 équipements en optique numérique à mon 7.1, et comme l'assemblage "2 commutateurs 3 ports manuels en batterie" ne fonctionne pas, je recherchais une solution pour éviter de brancher/débrancher les 3ème et 4ème équipements à tour de rôle en tant que de besoin, car la connectique aurait fini par ne pas apprécier. Ce produit est le seul que j'ai trouvé, sans commentaire sur le site, ni ailleurs non plus. Pas très rassurant ... Surtout vu le prix. Mais, très agréable surprise, il fonctionne parfaitement, et sa télécommande (petite en taille et très fine, juste la place pour les 5 boutons (marche/arrêt, et les 4 ports) et pour la pile qu'elle contient, permet de le piloter facilement et de façon précise. Et le pied : plus besoin de se démonter le dos pour passer derrière le plasma pour switcher manuellement. Peut se piloter aussi en manuel sur le boîtier lui même, et la petite lumière témoin bleue n'est pas violente et ne gêne absolument pas la vision. Bref, vous l'aurez compris, FiFY content :)

Endlich Lösung hiermit gefunden. Ausprobierte passive Umschalter (und auch schon zuvor als sehr negativ bewertete passive optische Audioumschalter entdeckte) brachten mich an Rand der Verzweiflung, weil ich keinen neuen AV Receiver wollte und nach Lösung suchte. Neuer TFT, DVD Player, BD Player, externer Satreceiver und in Zukunft vermutlich mkv Player, das alles will optisch angeschlossen werden. Passive Verteiler können mit sehr viel Glück funktionieren, jedoch ist die Gefahr groß, daß kein Ton oder Stotterton rauskommt. Ich gab auf, da ich auf keinen Fall durch immer neues Steckenund Testen meine Anschlüsse ruinieren wollte.Dieses Gerätchen ist die Lösung. Ja, es ist gemessen an heutigen Player recht teuer (in schwarz noch teurer, s. dortige ebenfalls positive Bewertungen), aber es funktioniert wenigstens sofort tadellos und für die Steckerei (oder Entsteckerei) braucht man auch keine Feile oder Mega-Fingermuskeln und muß dabei befürchten, daß da etwas abbricht.Die FB ist sehr zierlich, aber sehr leistungsstark, sodaß man das Gerätchen fast ein wenig "verstecken" kann, was wünschenswert, da es 4 sehr intensiv blaue Leds mit sich bringt. Ausgeschaltet leitet es bei mir PMC eines Gerätes durch.Man kann es auch ohne FB bedienen, falls jemand "krabbeln" will. :-))Getestet Dolby 5.1 und dts, sowie dts96/24, alles auf Anhieb problemlos.
