First try worked great!
We have a rather huge deep fryer and it’s kind of a pain to deal with so I got this for my mom’s flautas but she wanted to try it for chicken and it was perfect!

Fries great with very little mess.
I made southern fried shrimp with a buttermilk soak then seasoned flour dredge. Recipe temperature said 350. I heated the oil on medium high and when the thermometer got to about 330 I dropped a test shrimp in. It cooked perfectly at that temp so I put 6 at a time and was able to keep the temperature consistent throughout the cooking process. It took about 4 to 5 minutes to get to GBD. When I finished the 24 shrimp I fried 14 chicken tenders that we breaded using the same dredge and they came out perfect. The whole frying process took about 35 minutes because we had everything ready to go beforehand. I’m very happy with this fry pot and my only concern is that it is made from a little bit flimsy material. If you accidentally dropped the pot or lid I think it would bend out of shape. The bottom of the pot is very good and conducts heat great. I have a smooth top stove.

Doesn't work well with a glass-top stove or induction burner
The size was convenient and the little pot itself was fine but I couldn't maintain a consistent oil temperature because the when the burners on the glass-top stove cycle off, the oil cools, too, and I couldn't maintain the 350 degrees needed to cook the food properly. According to the pot's thermometer, the oil temp varied from 275 to 375 degrees within the space of a few minutes depending on whether the burner itself was red or had cycled off for a minute or two. Gonna try a Fry Baby/Fry Daddy with a temperature control, instead.

Great design, would love it even larger...
Just used this for the first time after purchasing a few months ago. Love how the thermometer hangs in just the right place for easy temp readings/adjustments without having to fiddle with it. The curved sides keep spattering to a minimum, and the drip rack works great for taking things out and letting them lose the drippy residual oil before moving them to a paper. My only complaint/wish is that the "large" size was even larger. I could fry maybe 4-5 pieces of chicken chunks at a time; not nearly large enough for a batch of french fries, etc.Only advice is to get some long tongs/chopsticks to take food in and out, as the opening is too small for a medium-large strainer.

Stainless steel pot
Very small an not a good grade of stainless steel pot, light weight which means when u get the grease hot so will the pot b hot all over an hard to handle.

I will be using this pot a lot
I recently received and have used it for frying fish. I didn't realize that it has to go on top of a burner, but it worked out fine. I think it uses less oil than I have used with my other fryers. Cooks great and not greasy. I am planning to use for my pot stickers soon. Very happy with this purchase.
