At first I did not care for the leash simply because it was different than the thick nylon leash I purchased back some 20 years ago. But the new nylon leashes are thinner and I was forced to accept this new style leash (I hate change BTW). Now after using with my Golden Mixed who has grown to 82 lbs., like my AMEX Card, I wouldn't leave home without it. This leash is BETTTER than my old thick nylon in a couple ways:First the leash glides easily thru your hands if your pup needs more leash such as when Wrigley did his morning business but yet the leash is thick enough to get a good grip if needed.Second the padded handle turned out to be wonderful tool in disguise, if Wrigley gets a little ahead in his heel and isn't paying attention I have enough slack in the leash I can simply "pop him" in his rear end or underbelly and get his attention and put him back into heel position - I have found this very useful and it doesn't hurt him at all, so don't go there if you are thinking that, I LOVE Wrigley - You'll need to develop your own system but I have found it very useful.Picture is of Wrigley on a long line practicing sit/stay/come/heel.

I loved the leash too for the first 4 months, but the cap fell out of the clip and lost the spring, so my dog came off leash while walking down the street with my husband. I see that this has happened to other reviewers, so definitely an issue that they need to review and fix.

I couldn't begin to tell you how pleased I was with the quality of this leash when I opened the package. We have a Newfoundland hound mix and a Husky/Staffordshire terrier mix (both ranging between 65-90lb). They had just worn out their 3rd $30+ leashes in a year when I knew I needed to find something other than the typical expensive 'pretty' leashes available locally. I needed something tough, comfortable in my hand, and that would last beyond a few months. I chose THIS particular leash because it was described as everything I needed. For the price, I thought 'why not give it a try? At the very least, I could return it if it didn't live up to its description.' I can't praise this product enough. The handle is padded and comfortable, the construction is impeccable, and I don't see a way for my two tough guys to wear this out. I am so happy to finally find a brand that actually lives up to its promises for HALF the price of those 'pretty' leashes at the pet store! Ty soooo much!

Super comfortable handle, poop-bag loop is a nice touch, seems to be really well made and a touch longer than advertised, which is great. It's nearly chew proof, making it an excellent leash for puppies, even our little piranha can't damage it. Wish it were made in the USA but then it would probably cost 3 or 4 times as much. Would highly recommend it, would definitely buy it again but probably won't have to. It seems like it will last for many years.There is no such thing as a 'chew proof' leash, our 8 month old Ridgeback has ruined two of these leashes already. So why are we on our third and not on to something new? We like them; they're well made, relatively inexpensive and light weight. The first leash he destroyed while sitting quietly under a restaurant table. The second, he damaged badly but it didn't (or hasn't) failed...yet. Our puppy is 85 lbs of power and we live in a busy city, though the leash still 'works', we bought yet another because when it does fail we'd rather that not be at an intersection.

This leash hasn't undergone the iron test, but its material appears very tough: a strong, laminated weave with stitching at the edges that presumably will prevent unraveling at the bite spots. I got this after a Rhodesian Ridgeback neatly bit through my "big dog" leash; it was heavy and thick, with a layer each of rubber, felt, and regular leash material, and the dog bit right through it in one go. As I was standing next to him. Amazing. And disappointing (in the leash).This leash is lighter weight, but feels very resistant. I tried it out today, and I like the quality, and the extra ring near the handle to attach another leash to. I also like the padding on the handle, which will be good for the hand when dogs pull. But the Ridgeback didn't try to bite it off, so I can't vouch for its strength.

We just got this and used it on our dog, who is very strong for her age (7 months) and loves to pull on the leash. It's so much thicker than the leash we had before, with a sturdy clasp. Very well made. Absolutely recommend this.UPDATE...Sorry had to downgrade a bit. The leash indeed is very strong, but it's not resistant to biting. I rechecked the listing, ,and sure enough, it says so. I should have paid better attention. Not their fault but mine. Our dog is just a year old, but very strong and she likes to take the leash in her teeth to "show" us where she wants to go. The first leash is toast now.We did buy a replacement, and will use some bitter apple anti-bite spray to discourage her. If your dog doesn't have an issue with biting the leash, this one should last for a real long time

Excellent leash its very thick and well built. I do think it seems a little short but it's prolly just me not used to having the leash that is so strong. And my girlfriend who used to have issues with a pulling dog now gets comfort on her wrist when he pulls her. Instead of a wrist in pain. Overall I could knock a faction of a star for length but I'm not because its very well built and while it seems short. Its the same length as the old one its just way thicker and way better product. I expect this leash to last a very long time. Its that well built. I don't expect to buy another one for most likely a couple of years. I'm extremely happy with the dog leash. When I do buy another leash I will update this to reflect longevity of this product. Thank you to Primal Pet Gear.
