What Vanilla Should Taste Like
Bravo! Best vanilla i have ever used. I use vanilla on a regular basis. When I used to flavor plain yogurt, it was a huge surprise. We had not been successful in finding a pure vanilla that not only stood up to any either cooked or uncooked for the past 3 years. This made us smile. Worth the cost.

Good value
Excellent taste, what Americans are accustomed to tasting in our food. Mixes well in liquids or batters. Good value compared to others of same quality, all vanilla is ridiculouly expensive if you use the real thing, and I hate the taste of artificial vanillin flavor.

Best produce for the money
Pure vanilla comes from many countries and has many different Varieties, I have used them all. This one is not the worlds best BUT, for the money, it’s is the best! I use it almost everyday in my baking and love the flavor. I don’t feel spending 25-50% more for a high end expensive product is worth it for every day use, this one is the best product and quality for the money, just use the expensive imported ones for your once a year holiday baking

This works for most recipies, but comes in PLASTIC so store it in glass!
We use LOTS of vanilla, we do mostly home food prep from scratch, so baked goods ice cream, yogurt, smoothies, custards... All use vanilla extract and this works. It has a similar flavor to the little dark glass bottles in the store, but because of the volume, is cheaper per oz in this size bottle, and from Amazon, it is a but fresher than our local shop, so step in the right direction for us.Cons:It comes in a clear PLASTIC bottle, which needs to be decanted into glass, once you do this and look at the plastic bottle, which is already turning brown as the vanilla and plastic fuse, you will get why, if you don't the vanilla towards the end will taste like plastic. So, we had to buy glass bottles for decanting into. As these were a onetime purchase - I wash and reuse - it didn't add that much to the cost over time, but still, how much plastic has already seeped into my vanilla by the time I get it? Some obviously because of the stains on the plastic bottles. HmmmIt has water as a ingredient - as another reviewer pointed out, vanilla extract process uses alcohol to extract the flavor and oils from the beans. I don't know if the water is common in other brands and/or if this has something to do with the legal restrictions on alcohol, but it DOES dilute the flavor over the little alcohol only bottles I have purchased from cooking shops. So, yes, I do use double the amount, or triple sometimes to get enough flavor in my prep, this sometimes means adjusting other liquids to compensate, like half the ice water in the flavored pie crust, and use cold vanilla!I saw a reviewer who suggested making your own, and that may be where I will head, but for now, this is an easy way to get the amount of vanilla we need for our day to day baking and cooking, we have a subscription so I don't have to remember to order.I have been happy with all the vanilla I have received, it has worked in my recipes - with minor adjustments - and given that the price of vanilla took a HUGE jump a couple of years ago when they had that storm that wiped out most of the crop - and no it hasn't gone back down, and probably won't - why should it as long as we continue to buy it at the higher cost? It is more economical and fresher than the little bottles at the grocery, so, I am pretty happy. The loss of the star is for the plastic bottle, which does concern me. I realize that it saves them money as there are fewer bottles lost to breakage, and shipping costs are less as the plastic is lighter, but I wound up throwing away about 1/3 of the first bottle we bought this way - the bottom of the bottle was COMPLETELY brown, and all you could taste was plastic! I wonder how much plastic we are consuming with all the plastic containers, and when they will announce that food stored in plastic containers causes some cancer or another, so decant!

Real is better than imitation
Before you buy the imitation you should look online and find out what the imitation is made out of. You’ll see all the things that they extract the vanilla flavoring from rather than vanilla beans. If this doesn’t make you feel sick nothing well. And the flavor just isn’t the same. Nothing better than French toast with egg bread a little cinnamon and this extract for an excellent breakfast. I think you’ll enjoy it it’s not cheap but it’s well worth it how much do you really use at one time anyhow. I hope this helps you

Most affordable McCormick extract
I bake quite often and over the holidays I go through about 2 bottles of this extract. It is better to buy the big bottle instead of many of the small battles at $6-$9 a piece.
