I looked at all circuit breaker finders & after reading all reviews & also since I have a Zircon stud finder that works well I decided on this one. This circuit breaker finder works perfectly;you just need to follow the instructions & move the receiver SLOWLY over all the breakers. My only complaint would be that you need to 'retrain' the receiver whenever you move the transmitter to an outlet or light which is on a different circuit than the one that you just traced but I didn't find that to be a deal breaker. All in all I'd say the item works very well & I'd definitely recommend it.

Didn't work - returned it for a refund
I used it on a known circuit and it couldn't identify it. I called the helpline and they were willing to give me a discount but I refused and told them I could buy the 9V battery cheaper since that was the only thing that did work. Quite surprised because I've had the Zircon Studfinder for years and it still works great. Circuit breaker finder - no such luck.

Excellent item, just what I needed to map the circuit breakers in my home. It takes a bit of trying to understand how to make it work - not making the double pass through the breakers had me scratching my head a few times, and it can be a bit "iffy" when you have to breaker switches in the same breaker slot, but all in all works very well.

Shipped with an active battery
The circuit detector seems to work OK. I was surprised to discover the 9 volt battery already installed and active in the device. I NEVER received an electronic device with an active battery. What if it sat on a shelf for a year? it was shipped in a box loose except for bubble wrap. Makes me think it was a returned item that was resold. In addition the battery housing cover was overly difficult to remove and install.

Safe to use with live circuit box.
Easy to use. Intuitively obvious function. Convenient design for storage. If you want to know which circuit breaker controls which receptacle, you can plug in a radio, crank it up and turn off breakers till the music stops. This device is so much easier.

Works pretty well.
This works well overall. It can be a little vague at times which breaker it's pointing to but it always narrows it down to two so you're not randomly guessing or turning off every one.

Great tool
I am a professional handyman. I use this tool all the time and it saves me many trips up and down stairs checking to see if the circuits off. I did have to get used to the "learning" feature on it. Just go down the entire panel first, then when you come back the second time it finds it perfectly. I love it and would recommend it to everyone.
