It's a little long (time wise) but you'll enjoy every second of it
A must buy for board gamers. This is gonna be a classic. It's a little long (time wise) but you'll enjoy every second of it. There's always something good to do. Even if someone has taken the one thing you need, there's so many other good options. Example: you need fish (to feed people) and someone just took the stack of fish, well, there's lots of wood or I can place my worker in a spot that gives me upon 4 iron or another spot that lets me upgrade my grain into bread (for food), etc ... that's great. Even if you lose, it still feels like you accomplished something and had a good time doing it. The game unfolds nicely. As the game develops, there will be things you could that weren't even possible at the beginning of the game.Components are good. You'll definitely need to buy small containers to hold all the resource tokens on the board and for storage. The game is very thematic. It makes sense. You and your 1 worker are working to gain & sell resources for money. The more ships you have, the more fish you could get and the more resources you could ship out. Wood could be used to help make buildings but also to burn off for energy. Grain doesn't count as food until it's upgraded into Bread. The same for Cattle. Cattle doesn't count as food until it's upgraded into Meat. And so on.Great game.

Great game, but the starting good (fish) never really gets phased out which is kind of weird
This is a very addicting game with components of games like Lords Of Waterdeep and Puerto Rico. Easy to get going, though it will take you a play-through to really comprehend the strategies and actions you can and should be doing, however it is not one of those games where you will be making up the rules as you go in order to get through playing it. The rulebook tells you how to set up the game, what to do on your turns, and it is a very basic game in how to play, however there is a plethora of options you can do on each of your turns. The first time I played was with a friend, and literally every round we ended up learning something new or figuring out something that otherwise didn't make sense which is why I say that it will take you a play-through to really understand the game. My biggest complaint with this game is that, unlike other games of this type, the most basic resource really doesn't get phased out like in other games. For instance, fish is the most basic resource and provides food, where in other games, this basic resource is only meant to get you up and running for a few rounds but requiring you to branch out into other goods like meat or bread in order to make ends meet, but in this game, fish only seems to get better as the game progresses. Somewhat frustrating. Otherwise, a very good game and can even work in teams, for example 2 vs 2 where those on a team can access their teammates buildings for no charge. Easy to learn though, and plenty of videos online to help if you get stuck. Definitely recommend.

Great resource management and conversion game
A well designed game of resource management and conversion. Good quality cards and cardboard with functional art style fitting the theme. Slightly randomized building offer gives each game a bit of a different flavor without drastically changing game play. A good mix of strategy and tactics.Fiddly to manage with the small chits moving to and from the supply board, offer, and player areas. Simple quick turns but a lot of rounds mean this game is rather long.

I enjoyed the play through I had and look forward to ...
It's hard to convince people to play this type of game, I enjoyed the play through I had and look forward to more. I'd suggest playing halfway through the game the first time and starting over just so everyone has a decent comprehension of the rules from the beginning of the game. These Euro-style games are a commitment but this one in particular has reasonable balance and definite replay value as there are so many alternate ways of playing.

Another Uwe Rosenberg hit!
This is another great game that I would have never discovered if it wasn't an IOS app. Now that I use an Android phone, we bought the board game to play with friends. It is a bit complex to setup, but once you get the hang of it, great time is usually had by all. I also own the two player version and greatly enjoy it. Uwe Rosenberg makes some fun games and If you like Agricola, you will probably like this game too.
