It looks like coir from pictures but is man made, Completely waterproof as it has rubber underneath it, I bought mine the brown version in the sale but the next day it shows the grey version almost £60 now that can't be right. So far so good. My old heavy duty outside front door mat lasted 12 years so that's see how long it lasts
