Software is outdated and Phillips does not cover any help. I lost the total money

I do multiple reports that I want to appear on one long file for the day. The recorder has this annoying habit of finalizing the file midway and starting another file, with a new file number. This happens randomly when I don't press any buttons to do so, and when I don't want it to do that. It is driving me crazy because I cannot figure out how to stop this from happening. I will probably have to phone tech support and get help. I was going to buy a second recorder, but now I will wait until I speak with them. Otherwise the recorder works fine. The thumb slide switch is what I have been using for 30 years and just what I needed.

A company employee used this recorder for 6 months. The settings frequently got changed on accident when it was placed in a pocket. Often the recordings would come back out of chronological sequence or missing sections. In my opinion, this recorder has too many features for those who doesn't specifically need them (for instance the ability to rewind and insert a recording into the middle of another recording or to rewind and overwrite a recording). It takes a fair amount of time learn about the features and use them correctly. I would not recommend this recorder for the technically challenged.
