![April and the Extraordinary World [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/810p0w8LwsL.jpg)

Paris, 1941. A family of scientists is on the brink of a powerful discovery when a mysterious force suddenly abducts them, leaving their young daughter April behind. Years later, April carries on her family's research in secret with her cat, Darwin, but soon finds herself at the center of a shadowy conspiracy and on the run from government agents, bicycle-powered airships and cyborg rat spies! A rollicking adventure set in an imaginative alternate universe, April and the Extraordinary World is "beautiful, inventive and uncannily satisfying!" (Glenn Kenny, The New York Times) Review: Awesome April! - I may be biased since my name is April, but I thought this movie was delightful. It holds your attention, and it is very well done! Worth the price! Review: but has a nice mix of adventure - Marvelous film! It may have some parts that are too intense for younger viewers (every child has a different threshold, but maybe 8+), but has a nice mix of adventure, science, science-fiction, and slap-stick villains. The animation is fantastic - very atmospheric. No spoilers here - but the end is sweet! It was a fun movie for my STEAM-focused girls, who spent time arguing about whether chemistry could ever be used as depicted in the film.

Well Done
This is an animated film about an alternate world. Unfortunately, it appears that, just as I found /Steamboy/ lacking, so I found this one. Part of it is the police inspector, who is treated stereotypically as a blustery joke. I have seen him too often before. And part of it is the story, most of which happens when the "young girl" is, in fact, a "young woman". Who changes from practical clothes to a larger version of the dress she wore when younger when her Grandfather tells her to. Still, it does have some interesting surprises. Sadly, they are not explained. And it is well drawn.

Great show and adventure/mystery
The animation isn't the best but it is very entertaining. We have watched this movie at least three times. I would highly recommend.

An excellent adventure. Taking place in early 20th century France in an alternate timeline April and the extraordinary world is a great movie. The animation is very good. I started out watching the English dub then about 30 minutes into the film switched to French with subtitles and liked it much better than the dub.
