Prodyne Cheese Slicer/Tray with Cracker Well

I really like this cheese slicer. I had no problems with a broken wire and adjusting the wire so it lines up with the slot in the board is extremely easy.In the event that the wire does break, there is a label on the bottom with instructions for obtaining a new one (which costs a dollar). This is a nice place to put it since who keeps (or can find) the instruction sheets for all your kitchen gadgets when you need them?For me the biggest decision was choosing between a hand held wire-type cheese slicer, cheese knives, or a block-mounted wire slicer (like this one). I've tried the first two and had these complaints:- Hand held wire slicer: does not slice straight. I could never get a nice even cut.- Cheese knives: do not work well with soft cheeses (like Brie). The knife has so much surface area, the soft cheeses stick to it and get squished as you slice, and are a pain to pull each piece off the knife before you can cut another slice.As for a board-mounted wire slicer: I've been very satisfied with this (it is my first). I find it cuts through all types of cheeses very well. I just recently cut a bunch of Italian Fatina cheese too thick so I held each 1/4 inch piece under the wire and was able to slice them in half with ease. I would definitely recommend a board-mounted wire cheese cutter... the only question is whether or not you want one like this that can hold crackers. Otherwise, choose a style with a smaller footprint.

Like that it's very easy to use and looks expensive. Bought two since I serve a lot of cheese when I'm entertaining. Couple of my girlfriends bought one after seeing mine. Everyone likes the fact that you can serve cheese as well as crackers on same cheese board. Gave three stars for cleaning since you have to use a toothpick to get all the cheese out of the groove.

This is very handy, attractive for serving cheese and accompaniments. It is about the size of a dinner plate with an extension on one side for the cheese cutter. I like that replacement wires can be purchased although I had the small rectangular version for many years and never had to replace the wire. Cheese lovers will enjoy this. The cutter even does a good job on soft or crumbly cheeses. I will be giving these as gifts this year because they are nice quality at a reasonable price.

It came with broken wire, seems it is common so the seller adds a note with the product to immediately exchange the wire. We received it fast. Easy to install and effective cutting

I often host ladies Bible study in my home and like to serve a variety of cheese. I already have containers for crackers, and I have had a smaller cheese slicer from Prodyne for many years that I really like and have used so much that it is beginning to look worn. When I saw this one, I realized I could put three or four blocks of cheese in the section that is carved out for crackers. So I purchased this along with a set of three animal cheese buttons to stick into the blocks of cheese and voila! I have the perfect combination for serving cheese. The ladies can cut what they want from each block, grab some crackers from my long cracker dish and have the perfect compliment to the salads I serve.My daughter recently visited and loved the idea, so she will be purchasing soon as well.The tray is well made and the cutter works on soft and hard cheese.........very tightly strung.

This is a lovely cheese and crackers tray. The size and shape are perfect for serving one or two people. The cutting wire is just right for a small block of cheese and is quite firm and slices readily. I especially like the recessed curve where you can put your crackers. This works well for casual or more elegant serving situations, and works well to work off of as a plate rather than just to serve from. The wood is very attractive and this is a nice item to buy yourself or as a gift for someone.

Is cheese slicer tray is a good choice. However, it doesn’t include any extra wires in case the wire breaks like many others. It is reasonably good looking, but not great.

We love this cheese board. The slicer works very well and it's easy-enough to clean (just make sure to get in the groove).One thing I oddly love about this is we get brand 34 crisps to go with our cheese and they fit perfectly in the circular groove.

It is a beautiful board for the simple task of slicing cheese. It works well too.

I liked the product a lot. Well made and the cutter works great. The only thing I would say is that I was surprised by how small it was when I got it... make sure you're aware of the dimensions when you buy it!

So far this item seems to be a great buy! I bought it as a Christmas gift, so we haven't actually used it yet. Upon inspection, it appears to be great quality! However, it was delivered just in the packaging and not an additional box, so the person it was for saw the box when it arrived. Overall, a great product though.
