A must for all makita routers.
Works like a charm. This should come bundled with the routers... I know 1/4 inch is imperial standard and not metric, but a lot of the best bits (e.g. Whiteside) only come in Imperial as well.

IT IS IMPERIAL 1/4" (6.35mm) AS ADVERTIZED. THANK YOU
It is imperial as the description said. I checked the part number before but it is Amazon, you never know. It looks genuine but the main thing is that the collet can finally hold my Micro Jig dove tail router bit.

My new Einhell 18v cordless router came with 6 and 8mm collets, and I needed a 1/4" collet to fit most of my cutters. I already knew this in advance, so I did a quick search and found a review saying this one fits. It does. It took me a few seconds to remove the supplied 6mm collet and install this one, and now all my 1/4" cutters fit my new router. I like it when things just work the way they are supposed to! I like it even more when they come with the Makita reputation for quality, and cost less than six quid. This does all of those things. Highly recommended if you have a collection of 1/4" shank cutters and your router doesn't come with a 1/4" collet.

I like this collet, because it enables me to use a lot of router bits i have (us-size) in my portable Makita router (metric).

Although this older model is not listed on the packaging, I was pleased to find out it fit my router perfectly. I was also glad to see it was actually a name brand product as I wasn’t sure if it would be a generic brand.
