Compact, sturdy, pretty
They have a back on them that keeps them in place. I was able to set space for 11 guests at my table that seats 8. They work well with my Lenox Butterly Meadow dishes. They would be even better with a clear glass set of dishes so the placemats show through. They are a little thick and the tops are slightly slick. Easy peasy cleanup.

I really like these table mats. They're attractive, sturdy, & easy to clean. They are a bit expensive.

Delightful placemats and the right size (for me)
I love Pimpernel mats and these Portmeirion Botanic Garden SMALL size placemats were just what I wanted. The more heavily advertised placemats are too large for my needs as place settings at a dinner table. (I use coasters for glasses).

Frequently reminded of the chemicals
We have had these placemats for about a month now and we thought the heavy glue smell would go away, but it has not. I don’t smell it constantly, but get a wife every now and then which isn’t nice when you are eating. They also seem to be changing color around the edges, maybe getting a little water damage. Do yourself and the earth a favor and consider getting organic cotton placemats or something able to come from nature and go back to it. :)
