I needed a hood to suck grill smoke out of my outdoor kitchen area. It is under a flat roof section against a window into kitchen. So very important to NOT have a lot of smoke as the wind will push it into any opening on this side of house. Everything I read said to get a 1200+ cfm fan, but I found none with such a nice low profile as this one, although it is 900 cfm. It does an adequate job of removing most smoke, but not all of it as is probably to be expected. To further reduce effectiveness, It would have blocked our views if set the recommended 33" above grill surface, so we are quite a bit higher.The fan is truly quiet and no issues with gesture controls or using remote. The lighting is more than adequate. My biggest challenge was having to mount closer to the roof than the included square duct covers would allow. I had to cut metal brackets and shrouds down with a metal cutoff saw, which turned out being much easier than it sounds. So if you are at all handy or have a handy person assisting, do NOT let this factor stop you from buying. It can be done!I feel this is ideally suited for over a standard range, but also works okay for over a grill. Problem is when grill lid is closed, the smoke comes out the back well behind the vents and when grill lid is open, the smoke comes out well in front of the vents. I added Plexiglas to divert the smoke from back up into vents that I remove after cooking. (not shown). I am working on a more permanent solution for basically expanding the hood wider and lower with plexiglass to not block window AND capture more smoke.Bottom line is I would buy this again. It is beautiful and well made and great stainless steel. It gets 65% of the smoke out of the area and my wife loves it. The latter being very important! Oh, and the price was right too.

We are so pleased with this island hood! It is perfect over the 36 inch range in our 10ft island. It looks beautiful in our new home. And works great. It also has the perfect chimney height for our 10 foot ceiling without having to buy an extra extension. We had to contact the company about a concern after it was installed. Emma from IKTCH emailed us back the very next day and she addressed all of our concerns. Thank you Amazon for having this product.

This is a most beautiful hood I ever seen. I moved to a new house, but the range is on the middle island, with an uprise side vent, it is totally not enough for a Chinese family 😞. Then I found this elegant island 36 inches 900 com hood. Installation is very easy as soon as you find a way out and connected the vent pipe out. The hand gestures is very handy! The glass cover is very beautifully designed with good looking!Update: I have a small issue, contacted the customer service via WhatsApp, wow, Yuki is awesome!

The good: noise level is very reasonable, extraction is very good. I know some have complained about controls on both sides, and I thought it was odd initially, but I actually find myself using the controls on the "wrong" side now and then. Quality is nice. Product support was good; the first unit arrived with the glass shattered, but they sent a new one within a few days.If you have 8 foot ceiling height, be prepared to cut metal. The installation instructions do not address this scenario in any way, so it was up to me to figure out how to make it work. I ultimately decided to use only one section of the support frame and shorten both sections of the vent cover so that they would allow enough room to connect the hood to the support frame. If you don't have an angle grinder and a steady hand, this isn't the product for you.

This is an attractive range hood that can be turned on hands-free. Compared to a couple of other range hoods I've used it's certainly quieter, which is a plus. The downside is that turning it off is not straightforward. The light is bright and the amount of light can be adjusted. That may be helpful for kitchens that don't have enough lighting. Be careful adjusting the height, so a tall person doesn't turn it on just by walking past.

The media could not be loaded. Purchased this island range hood and had it professionally installed. It sounds like the fan blades are whacking the metal sides! Definitely metal noises, and not just airflow sounds. I put a decibel meter up to it and got 75 dBs on high fan settings - so loud that I couldn’t hear anything else.Maybe I got a defective or returned unit; I would typically chalk it up to just getting a lemon, but I’m posting this because IKTCH has been incredibly unresponsive and unhelpful. I first emailed them on Sunday (no phone numbers are available). IKTCH responded once on Tuesday, saying that if the hood can suck up a napkin, it was working as intended. Metal on metal sounds! But working as intended. I’ve sent follow-up emails every day (it’s now Friday); this thing is installed above my range, totally unusable, and I need to know what to do with it!STAY AWAY!Edit: it’s been about a week now. I email every day just to see if I’ll ever get another reply. Will update if and when I do.
