Q: Can you somehow disable the sounds feature, perhaps by not putting in batteries?

It's not too loud. There's no switch to turn it off so you have to take the batteries out.

Q: Does anyone know of a site where I can find the pilot only? We have the helicopter but we lost the pilot.

Hard to say. Is he really into helicopters or planes? You turn the blades by hand & it makes various helicopter noises. You might also consider FP Little People DC Super Friends (6 in cars.) My kids liked lots of "people." Also, there's an Imagenext DC Super Friends Wayne Manor Batcare that a boy who's into batman would really like.

Great helicopter toy for toddlers

My 17 months old son is obsessed with wheels and likes to spin everything. I purchased this for him because he likes his fisher price camper. He loves this toy. He spins the rotary blades and the fans in the tail end. He interacts with the little pilot 👩‍✈️ and when you push down on the pilot it makes helicopter related sounds and the pilot says sentences like "ready for lift off." There are no small parts and it is made to take abuse like dropping. Since I bought my son has not put it down or left the house without it.

Fun!

The kids like it and use with set ups. But I waited to buy when the price went down. It's nuts the way it goes from $10-$18. Would not pay the higher price. Same quality you expect, will last and take abuse from toddler.

Exactly what I was looking for !

This is a Christmas gift for my 18 month grandson who is already loves helicopters. You can't go wrong with Fisher Price. This toy is so cute, appears very durable and makes sounds he will love. This came very quickly and packaged well. Thank you so much !!

Good gift

It was a present for our grandson who lives out-of-state. According to our son (child's father), the grandson loved it - he loves trucks, etc. and he latched right on to this toy.

Durable and interesting

My grandson really liked the motion of the propeller and that there was a little pilot in the helicopter. It seems to be a very durable toy for my 16 month old grandson.

Perfect for little toddler hands.

My boys (2 and 13 months) both love this helicopter. Both propellers are easy for them to spin and are sturdy under their grip. The toy is light enough to not be cumbersome, but is capable of standing up to their abuse. The only thing that would be nice is if there were an extra button on the side to push for the audio clips. The positioning of the pilot (who needs to be pushed down to activate the sounds) under the propeller is sometimes difficult for them to manage.
