Q: Since this is plastic - does the plastic absorb the smoke smell permanently? like plastic food containers hold the smell of food even after cleaning?

We've only used ours TWICE, about 5 months ago, to smoke some cheese. I just went to go sniff it — and it's fine, no smoky smell at all. And my wife, who has a MUCH more sensitive nose than I, says she wouldn't have even put it away if it still smelled smoky. So I think you're safe.

Use only the tools that are provided with this product, there is no need to add or take away any other tools, it works perfect with the tools it comes with.

Q: Is this dome dishwasher safe?

The clear PP dome cover would be easy to clean, you can rinse it underwater or use a wet rag to wipe it clean. Dishwashers and Microwaves are not applicable.
