Greenworks never fails
Just recently I survived not one but two hurricanes in the big bend area of Florida Debbie and Helene . I lost a few trees and ordered two chainsaws from greenworks . I am pleased beyond words with the performance and the ease in which they cut . I was worried my trees were to large to handle the job . I was wrong . They performed without a hitch . They are both very well built and lightweight for a sixty year old man .

With big batteries, this thing is a monster saw
This thing is a beast with 2 of the 8ah batteries. Cut cleanly through a 2 foot pecan tree and through the metal ladder that was resting on the tree.

GREAT customer service!
This chainsaw worked like a CHAMP.... until the third time I went to use it and the threads inside of the bar oil tank tore apart rendering it useless as the cap would no longer seal.I contacted Greenworks and after providing pics, model numbers, and serial numbers, they warranted it and sent me a new chainsaw kit including batteries and charger. I will be very gentle with this cap. 3 stars for product, 5 stars for customer service.

perfect Mid-duty Chain saw
This saw lives at the border between a full heavy duty earn a living cutting wood type chain saw and super light duty I need trim a little branch twice a year chain saw. It has lots of power and battery for its class. Well balanced and demands little in the way of upper body strength to use it. The 24 volt batteries it uses ( 2x24 for 48 volts) offer a full half days work at about 150 cuts. Even better the greenworks 24 volt tool line is huge. Cuts about twice as fast as the dewalt 20v 12 inch saw and is about the same price. Its cheap enough to keep in your car for when your driving around and see some smoking wood you want to grab. Great chain saw for me.

Excellent value, works extremely well.
I really enjoy the Greenworks product line in general and this product does not disappoint. I primarily use this for tree limbs, bush roots and other landscaping needs and it has performed very well. It's relatively light (for me) and can be easily handled and maneuvered as needed. The cutting power is strong and the largest I've cut was probably a circumference of ~30in. I've never had the batteries run out on a job, but they are new, and I wouldn't call it heavy use, pretty much light to medium. It does have some safety features, with the handle on top being a cut off lever, so it is easy to immediately discontinue power if needed. Like with all chainsaws, never use one-handed as you circumvent the safety feature, risk your ability to recover if you either drop it or lose control and you put yourself at great risk.Glad I bought this one and I am enjoying the use so far.

CHEAPLY MADE...LEAKS LIKE A SIEVE. If you order, use it once a week in the first month
I ordered this to cut up a tree that had fallen. I read the directions fully, noting that it said it required an oil refill with each full use of the battery. I thought that was unusual but noted, nonetheless. It made quick work of the fallen tree and I was done in about 10 minutes. I went to use it again for the 2nd time in 35 days to find a pool of oil had leaked from the casing (the split down the middle, not the plug) all over the drill case it was sitting on. It functioned ok, but this is NOT something I would expect from a new chainsaw. I don't have a problem if it is going through oil because of discharge, but to simply leak from the case is not acceptable. Unfortunately, the return date was 5 days ago, so now it is a manufacturer warranty issue. I recommend using it purposefully multiple times during that first month. If it is defective, you have a simple return method. Maybe mine was the only one, but I don't think it is.

chain slippin oil slinger
Out of the box this thing looks like it will be a beast. I typically keep my craftsman battery powered saw in my off road vehicle. that one was great but it failed after 10yrs of solid use. I thought i would upgrade to a bigger saw for both home and trail use. that's when the greenworks entered the mix. Initial use was great, put just enough oil in reservoir to get it running, cut down some 2" thick weed trees in my yard and went to the next pile and thats when the problems started. Oil is now coming out around the chain faster than needed and the next cut resulted in the chain jumping off the bar. Take it apart, put the chain back on and 5 seconds later the chain is off again. Upon closer investigation i see that there is an excessive amount of oil building up around the bar/chain tensioner, its so bad that you can see the tension screw start to back off with no possibility of it ever staying tight again. Basically its a great motor attached to a bunch of plastic garbage. this thing is not safe and definitely not worth the price tag. Unfortunately i bought this in the fall on sale and only used it recently, so that puts me well past the return window. I'll hang it on the wall with all my other junk art
