It’s not quite a mop and not quite a puppet but man… they make a good Lego set
Lego ideas is really knocking it out of the park when it comes to these license sets: sonic, Winnie-the-Pooh and this - awesome. I am a huge muppets fan and I also love the sister show, Sesame Street (why aren’t all the old series on a streaming service already?!?) so this was always high on the wish list (unfortunately their are lots of Lego sets high on the wish list that will never come off the wish list - there is only so much I can justify spending on Lego!) and so I eventually bought it.The mini figs are great and the kids have each picked out there own character (and gotten sick of me saying “hey Bert” and singing Rubber Ducky) and there has been some play with the set but not as much as I would like.It is a great set, and it looks so good with lots of nice little touches (I love the mini fish bowl and the tv and vcr player is beautiful) but it isn’t great at playing. The window frames are held in place by a single stud so move a lot and it comes across as a set designed more for display than play.Durability is low: there was a lot of “daddy, this piece has fallen off” during play and it gets a bit draining after a while. The windows bug me as they don’t have the second stud to hold them straight and so the lintel sways easily and fall off easily.Playability is high: if you don’t mind some rebuilding then this set has great play potential. It’s like a dolls house for Sesame Street characters and the kids love playing with it and mimicking their own routines but with Lego mini figs. And speaking of the figs, most the big ones are here and look great - the only really noticeable absentees are Grover and Snuffleupagus but both are understandable as to their exclusion. The ones they do have look great and will join the coming muppet mini fig series quite nicely.Affordability is medium/low: any set over £100 is going to be a tough one for most family’s and this doesn’t have the playability as some similar priced Ninjago sets which you would be better spending your money on (see my review of set 71756 for a more expensive set that is worth it). You are getting some exclusive and unique mini-figures, and they’re great, as well as some nice little pieces (as I said before I love the fish bowl so much) which helps justify the price. It is also a large build and a relatively cheaper set for a modular like building (a lot of the modular buildings are more expensive). I paid full price as I’ve never seen it reduced and I feel it will be coming close to retirement soon and then it will be harder to get; I haven’t felt remorse over my decision and feel it will get played with enough for the price to not hurt (too much).Displayability is very high: it looks very nice and has a lot of little touches with are so fun. Oscar is a nice touch, the vcr printed 2x1 title is one of my most favourite pieces ever and did I mention how much I love the fish tank piece? The size makes it harder to display, as we don’t have much space, but it looks good and those Sesame Street references are great.Buildability is high: the building is fairly straight forward and not too difficult but there are some nice, interesting builds (the fire alarm had me nodding in approval and saying “that’s cool.”) there are also some fiddly bits and I’m not a fan of how they did the window frames. There are also several stickers With some being prominent (so needing to put on well) and a couple of small fiddly ones but on the whole not too awful as there are several larger stickers. A fun build but would prefer less stickers.Overall: I love the set would have to conclude that, given the price of Lego, it probably is worth the money. I think it has been designed more for display but I do think that kids will have lots of fun (and I’m certain the older kids will feel nostalgic for the ladybug’s picnic). The mini figs are a huge selling point as well because it’s Bert and Ernie… as Lego characters. So as they would say: “come and play, everything’s a-ok”

Awesome Build!!!
This set has SO much detail! From pictures of The Count and Mr. Hooper on the wall to Ernie's rubber ducky to Big bird's teddy bear - this set has it all. The architectural detail is great and the minifigs created for the set are much more true to life than typical Lego minifigs -- the kids will love them. For adults, the set includes details from different eras of the show and is sure to have you looking up old episodes on-line. When I bought this set on Amazon, it was also priced 15% below the regular Lego.ca price - the lowest price I've seen it at. Great value in my eyes!!
