I Enjoyed This Brief But Informative Book!
I received the The Hubble Space Telescope: Our Eye on the Universe Paperback – Illustrated, September 27, 2019, PaperbackThis is a nice sized book for someone, young or old, who is just starting to be curious about Astronomy and what is out there in our universe.Brief, but good info and nice photos. The book is not overwhelming to read, which can be a very good thing for younger people.I enjoyed reading this book and I have it out on my small coffee table to be able to re-read it and enjoy the photos.

To Infinity and Beyond ...
Terence Dickinson along with Tracy C. Read have given readers of all ages a wonderful view of our universe with their book "The Hubble Space Telescope: Our Eye on the Universe". The text is informative, detailed enough to maintain the interest of adults, but not so complex that it deters younger readers from exploring its pages. The photographs are extraordinary and help convey the majesty of our world and the universe beyond.Divided into five sections, the book begins with information on the Hubble. That section concludes with a glossary titled "Navigating the Universe" that defines various terms used throughout the text. Part 2 is titled "Close to Home: and describes our solar system and provides brief descriptions of the planets. Part 3, titled "Inside Our Galaxy" expands the information and includes spectacular photos of various nebulas along with descriptions of those included. Part 4 "Cosmic Galaxies" goes beyond the Milky Way and describes, as well as depicting, different entities in space. Part 5 "To Infinity and Beyond" shows places heretofore unexplored that the Hubble has opened to scientists and astronomers."The Hubble Space Telescope: Our Eye on the Universe" is a remarkable little book that is beautiful as well as informative. I recommend purchasing the hardcover book as it will be one you will want to keep in your library for its photographs as well as for its informative text.

An Easy to Understand Book About the Hubble Space Telescope
This book should be in every public and school libraries and Scholastic Book Fair. I personally think the Hubble Space Telescope does not get enough publicity nor credit. I mean, astronomers are seeing and getting pictures of how the universe looked thousands of years ago! The author (an astronomer) introduces the reader to the Hubble Telescope- its structural components and its capabilities/ limitations. Don’t worry about terminology, because he has a wonderful four pages of glossary for us laymen of astronomy. Next, he takes us to our solar system highlighting some interesting facts. But the best part of this book is the stunning photos of the galaxies that the Hubble has taken on our behalf. Each picture of a galaxy is included with a text describing it. It is just amazing to see what is out there. My 12 year-old son found it to be a fascinating book, as did the rest of the family. He thought the text was easy to understand. The book is described as directed towards 5th grade and up. This family’s knowledge of the Hubble Space Telescope has multiplied 100 times because of this book. I highly recommend this book.
