Used with Emecole 555 Hybrid Urethane crack repair. It's compatible. Works.
I started with silica sand I bought from Emecole...I ran out. So, I bought this silica sand. The grains are a little bigger, but, it still works. Once I put the grinder to it, I couldn't tell the difference from the Emecole silica. It was white. I assume it is dried...I couldn't find any documentation saying it was, but, apparently it is. I had no issues with the packaging. As a crack filler for Hybrid Urethane applications, it does the job.

Great for fireplace
Used this with gravel for my gas fireplace. Looks great.

Perfect for sanded plaster finish
I needed a small amount of fine grade silica sand to add to plaster for some repairs of sanded plaster walls . Live in Az where plaster walls are very rare & had to mix my own product . Only complaint is that it comes in such small quantities

Works like a charm...
Perfect fix for our gas fireplace. We had a gas smell and did some research. Found that we needed sand to properly disperse the natural gas to achieve a proper flame. This was absolutely correct and this sand was the answer. Only issue was the packing - the fold of the cardboard box allowed a small amount of sand to escape, making a bit making a mess and it seems like there could be a better way to pack the product. Threre was even sand in the outer Amazon box so take care when opening the package.

Used Under the Fireglass
I was a little skeptical because of the reviews. I did not want to purchase sand that was wasted all through the box. To my surprise it was in great shape and none of the product was wasted. It was only sealed by a twisty tie. I'm concerned as to why they haven't invested in a plastic sealing machine. I found alll the sand on the internet to be overpriced, so that was my main complaint. It served the purpose of being a barrier for my fireglass in the fireplace.

Note you will most likely need two boxes
I purchased for about a 20 inch wide vented natural gas tray, and was not even close in covering the gas pipe. So I had to order a second box, which did an adequate, but not excessive cover of the pipe when combined with the first box. Would be good to have a more useful measure of quantity in their advertising. Maybe for the tiny unvented gas fireplaces this might be appropriate - I don't know since I don't have one. Otherwise seems to work well.

Worth every penny
My gas fireplace was so loud I stopped using it years ago. A friend told me to replace the sand with Meeco’s and amazingly enough it worked! I don’t hear the loud gas sound at all. Just the sound of flickering flames. I could have spent big bucks replacing all the hardware when all I needed to do was replace the sand with fine silicone sand. Very very happy with this product!

Great Replacement
We finally got around to replacing the sand/embers in our fireplace. Everything that was in there seemed to be original to a home built in 1981. We had begun to think that our NG fireplace was just for show and not a heat-producing fireplace. Oh, how wrong we were. After taking out the old logs, using the shop vac to vacuum out all the old sand/embers, and replacing with this new silica sand and the corresponding MEECO Red Devil 585 Embers, we were amazed at the outcome. Our fireplace now produces a great even quiet flame and a substantially increased heat output. I was buying this and the embers in hopes of a nicer flame, but we got a new heat source in the process. I would totally recommend.
