Easy Set Up, No Leaks, WaterProof Unit - Great Purchase
So far, this time has performed as expected. It was easy to set up and the instructions were well written. I first set it to water daily but then decided to go with every 3 days. Changing the frequency was simple and it did not require me to set up everyone all over again. A simple turn of the dial and switching to longer frequencies was all it took. The unit was built to be waterproof so there is no concern yet with the display collecting water. Also, the timer had a good seal on the faucet, with no water leaking. I did use a little bit of teflon tape to be sure. The unit seems to be durable, but time will tell. I will update my review if there are any problems.

RAINPOINT WORKS CONSISTENTLY
The RAINPOINT timer works much like Orbit and other brands. The most important thing, for me, is that IT WORKS CONSISTENTLY. Last summer, I purchased three Moistenland timers that either worked briefly, inconsistently, or not at all! RAINPOINT comes with details on the box instructing you to operate the timer before using it to activate the internal valve lubricant, ensuring that it will, in fact, work when installed (no such instructions with the Moistenland). It comes with Teflon sealing tape, extra screened hose seals to keep debris from clogging the valve. It also comes with an easy-to-read, quick-start guide that includes a troubleshooting section and phone numbers and email addresses if you need more help.

One of three failed after first season.
I purchased three, one lasted just one season. When they work they are great, I can set time(s) to water, how long and frequency during the day. The clock and valve are excellent. One did not come on when I reset them this season. I opened it thinking a battery wire was broken or separated but a chip was getting very hot and the battery was depleting. I ordered another since I like the operation when it works. I contacted the company and they told me they would ship another under warranty but I did not want to wait.

Precise program scheduling
My plant seedlings require multiple waterings throughout the day, otherwise they burn out, shrivel, and die. This Rainpoint 1 zone water timer #ITV105 offers the capability to accomplish a dialed watering schedule; game-changer! Cheaper versions only offer basic functions, which is fine for trees or sod, but if you need a more precise, dialed schedule, with multiple waterings throughout the day, this is the model. I went cheap with the plastic version, but the plastic inlet is stoutly built. Turn dial is crispy; feels good. Instructions are detailed.

Great watering timer control
First impression on opening is the unit has a very quality feel and appearance. The rotary knob has a nice action with each position easily selectable, no guessing if you have the correct selection made. The quick start guide was just that, very quick and easy to follow. The installation and watering schedule programing is very easy to achieve following the quick start guide. No leaking observed on inlet or outlet, unit has operated two days exactly according to the schedule. I’ve switched to manual mode and back with no issues. I’m very pleased with this purchase, and a 5 year warranty!

An Improvement
I love the smaller size then the one I owned before. The one before was almost impossible to program. This one can easily be progamed just by reading the buttons. Also, the seals seem to be more snug then the last one that leaked. Hopefully this own will last longer than 3 years.

Love this timer!
Absolutely love this timer. Very easy to use and easy set up. Customer service is top notch. Just wish there was a way to bypass timer and manually water without having to set the timer. But set up is super easy so not a huge deal. Just bought another one.

Update to my earlier posting
I choose to order and include RainPoint's Water Flow Meter. The description mentioned having a "screen Flip Switch." So I suppose they've simply choose not to include it on the RainPoint 1-Zone Water Timer. - Having well water as our source, a new enclosed garden area was installed with 6 spaced overhead sprinklers. Previously we had to drag a hose and connect it to the sprinkler system inlet. Desiring a better way, we invested in the RainPoint 1-Zone Water Timer. Unfortunately, the sprinkler system inlet is above the hose connection. This arrangement "required" us to install the water timer "upside down.” Due to the one-way flow designed requirement."It would be my "strong" suggestion that RainPoint designers consider including a screen "flip" button, so the screen and be reversed when needed, making it much easier to read the settings.
