Great sound!
This item was a “Like new” product but I really believe that it was brand new. The box was sealed. The battery in the remote control still had the plastic seal. The unit itself seemed sealed from the manufacturer. This is the second soundbar from Denon. The first one got flooded from the hurricane. I have it connected with two 350 speakers and the subwoofer from Denon. I am happy with it. The quality of the unit and sound is great to me but every body has different ears so it may sound differently to somebody else. The soundbar is great by itself but with the sub sounds even better. It works well as a surround system. It takes a minute to get used to the app but anybody can figure that out. I really enjoy it and I saved a lot of money by buying the speakers refurbished directly from Denon and the “Like new” soundbar from Amazon. I recommend this soundbar and this seller on Amazon.

Excellent High Quality Soundbar
I bought this and a corresponding Denon Subwoofer to upgrade a disappointing low end unit from another manufacturer. This sound is among the best as far as soundbars go. Finish is high quality and setup was easy with our LG TV. It also integrates well with our Heos system which is distributed throughout our home. Highly recommended.

Great sound given the size
I'm used to my Yamaha YSP5600 sound bar that has far better sound and control, but it has not been updated in years and no longer supports the latest encryption. So I bought this sound bar and subwoofer and I'm pleased overall with it but there are several drawbacks. First the unit lacks the ability to fine tune the performance both with regards to the signal timing (tune the system to the environment) and equalization. You get the choice of three sound fields and that's it. My other issue is the App is very limited. It does not even provide all the functions on the tiny remote. My system was delivered with a non-functioning remote (I'm waiting for the replacement), but without the remote you cannot put the unit into pairing mode to use the bluetooth. This function should be duplicated in the App, but its not.

Not Reliable
I have owned this soundbar for 7 weeks. It has been nothing but trouble the entire time. I should have known when I had to spend the first two days owning one with their support team just to get it to work at all. That took them over 12 hours to get it going. I should have stopped right there and sent it back. But I didn't. Over the course of the last 7 weeks I have spent over 25 hours on the phone with their help desk with issue after issue after issue. Now it's too late to get a refund and I am stuck with a 700.00 soundbar that doesn't work. DO NOT BUY ONE!!

Review which said can only play music is on crack.
This soundbar is devastating, unless you really want deep low end you don’t need sub. I’m in a apt these days, got bar and was floored with quality/bass response. Accuracy of range/tonal response is admirable. Then found pair of 150 as surrounds on sale also after Christmas. Setup was quick, painless and straightforward and worked as advertised. Have control of levels as well as crossover Freq of surrounds. The clarity left my old $140 Vizio soundbar in the dust. Of course all said and done I’ve got almost $700 in this front/rears system and it’s worth every cent. 550 bar as front, pair of 150 as surrounds.

Sounds great...when it works.
This is the best sounding soundbar I've used, particularly when paired with a Denon Home Sub. Very clear dialog. Setup is relatively easy, mostly done on the HEOS app. Settings are very configurable compared to other multi room audio system soundbars.Unfortunately, there is often a 5 second delay when starting audio from a source (tolerable) and is randomly cuts out for 2 or more seconds during playback. Sometimes it won't happen for days, sometimes several times one night. This has nothing to do with network (which I troubleshooted anyway) it happens from the TV directly connected via ARC HDMI. After several rounds with tech support, they conceded it might be best to return it.

Surprisingly unimpressive
A small compact solution with little technical documentation and even worse setup user experience.I generally enjoy Denon products being a massive fan of the AVR lineup of premium home theater receivers. I thought when I needed a better solution for my wall mounted 4K TV in the master bedroom this would be a knockout choice. Pricey, sure, but Denon!First off the bar is very small, and normally that would be a good thing but the soundstage for general TV use is very narrow. Dialog still becomes muffled even with the Dialog Enhancer enabled. Bass is present however, the most noticeable upgrade from my premium Samsung built in speakers.Trying to set this up with that Samsung involved utilizing the HDMI 4 ARC-equipped TV port. At first I could get no sound from it. Most documentation is lacking many technical details, but for me ensuring HDMI-CEC (What Samsung called “Anynet+”) was done in advance. I chose to use Ethernet for networking which most documentation lacks to explain the setup process for. Ultimately through great frustration I came to realize that the bar they shipped me in July 2022 was EXTREMELY out of date with its firmware. Firmware is updated via the HeOS mobile application. Thankfully you do NOT need to set up some stupid account to use the app to set up or configure the bar—points added for straightforward requirements. The firmware takes a… very… long… time… to… update. I counted 25 minutes. After a while the app lost contact with the bar and assumed it was set up. It wasn’t. While the light flashes orange/yellow the firmware is still being updated DO NOT UNPLUG IT. Ignore the app. Wait for the bar to show blue. Just…wait. Once all the firmware updates are applied run through the device setup process again and you should be in business. The volume had to be clicked up about 15 times to finally hear something.Once you’ve hit this point congrats! You’ve done what Denon couldn’t bother to explain clearly. Now I’ll post my criticisms….Some of these may be due to the TV behavior, so take with a grain of salt… but every time the bar turns on, my TV flips to the input that ARC is active on which obviously doesn’t show any content, as it’s been dedicated to sending audio data to the sound bar. Annoyingly I think this is my reward for spending $2500 on a premium Samsung TV. As is the annoyance of having no idea what the volume level is set to on the bar; pressing up or down volume shows a brief Vol + or Vol - and that’s it. If I connect Bluetooth headphones to the TV at night the TV will shut off the bar connection and blast the TV speakers if the TV volume was left up. Most of these gripes are due to poor TV user experience and likely not the sound bar.The sound bar itself seems to be fairly good but not the massive improvement I was hoping for over the built in speakers. For $600 MSRP I would have expected a much better audio experience from a company like Denon. I don’t know if I should blame it on HeOS, but it’s just underwhelming.Mounting the bar is a bit silly as well. Instead of a nice bracket to mount to you’re given picture-hanging holes. What absolute cheap out on such a premium product. It makes mounting the bar unnecessarily clonky and in most cases will cause it to sag towards the floor. A shelf is a better option if it fits with your decor. A TV wall mount with universal sound bar mounting is even better.Overall I give this product a “meh” out of 10. Not worth the price. If it was $199 I would have felt better.
