Manufacturer Warranty: 1 year Review: nice monitor, multiple hook-up options - nice monitor, multiple hook-up options like VGA, DVI, HDMI, very handy, the USB ports on the side are nice extras. I use mine as an inspection/diagnostic aid using multiple input devices such as endoscopes, microscopes, hi-def camera, etc. whatever is needed to aid in close-assembly, soldering, rework, etc... It is a terrible waste for it to have such a nice stand though; I use the 100mm VESA mount on the back of it instead... Review: The perfect monitor. - I have for 15 years preferred the HP monitors for simplicity of the frame (not distracting), ease of configuration, and most important for me, the ability to spin the monitor 90 degrees (when programming), remove the LCD panel from the base (to hang on a wall mount), and the very clever, spring loaded base-neck which allows me to compress the entire monitor (with base attached) into a water tight, fully protective Pelican case. As a filmmaker, I need a mobile studio to review footage and conduct edits no matter where I reside. This monitor has been with me from Colorado to Arizona to Washington State, from the U.S. to Palestine to Germany to South Africa (for 2 years) and back again. Not a dead pixel that I have discovered in 5 years. Whites are still white. Black is still black. I am hoping to buy another, identical unit to place in storage, just in case this one ever fails ... eventually.

The perfect monitor.

Great small monitor
I bought this monitor as a second screen for my iMac. The IPS panel makes it a decent match for the iMac screen, although it is matte instead of glossy. It looks quite good. Potentially very very bright, I run it at about 25% brightness. Colours look good. Nice set of connectors and cables that come with it (although you'll need to buy an extra mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to use it with an iMac.) Overall a solid smaller LCD monitor. Amazon's database keeps having the wrong product detailsr. This really is a monitor, and not a hard drive or computer or whatever other irrelevant description Amazon puts on it.

A great deal on a superior product
After doing my homework, I decided that I wanted an IPS monitor. Unfortunately, the price for an IPS monitor is usually $400 or higher because IPS is only available on larger monitors--usually greater than 24". I stumbled upon this great deal that Amazon was offering for a refurbished 21.5" IPS monitor from HP. It is such a pleasure having an HD widescreen monitor for the first time. I have vision problems & do a lot of online reading at my desk. Everything is so sharp & clear when viewing web sites & videos in HD & widescreen formats! No, I'm not a gamer, so I can't speak to the response time, but it seems lightening fast from my perspective. The package arrived 10 days sooner than promised & was well-packaged. It was super easy to assemble & the software was very simple to navigate. (The software version was from 2006 & I had to manually update it to the newer version, but Windows made that extremely easy, too.) On a side note, the stand that comes with this monitor is the best I've seen. It adjusts vertically, pivots, & has a wide forward & back tilt range. I read a lot about the stands that come with other top brand monitors & the complaints about them made getting those monitors a deal-breaker for me. This monitor even has a portrait orientation & the stand is built to accommodate that position as well. If you care about looks, it has a very narrow profile & only a 1/2 inch frame around the screen.

It's 21.5in becuase it's reeealllly wide. It's actually kind of short (in height).

Excellent monitor / HD TV
Excellent clarity for HD TV, computer use. Multiple inputs including fairly hard to find VGA input on a monitor this size. Easy toggling between inputs with easy to press push buttons which will hopefully not fail like the touch / heat activated inputs on my old monitor (the failure of those touch activated controls is why I bought this new monitor, so hopefully the physical controls will not be as fickle).

Excellent monitor!
Needed a replacement for the aging monitor that I had. Wanted a wide-screen IPS monitor that was a comfortable size. This fit the bill. It is bright, sharp, no dead-pixels and, true to IPS technology, viewable from all angles. It comes with a variety of cables (though, no HDMI cable) and the stand is really solid, too. It's not the cheapest monitor out there, but it is certainly the most bang for your buck.

Much better now
I bought this because most of the reviews were so positive, and some said it was as good as the Apple IMac. Not even close. Especially displaying text. In my opinion, it doesn't look any sharper than any other monitor, and does not even come close to the Apple. I have another 20" hp monitor that looks just as good, both text and photos, and I see no difference in the ZR2240 comapred to the smaller hp. For the money, not worth it. I don't think I would purchase this again. Update: 9-23-2013 I just upgraded my computer to the new Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics , with a ASUS Z87-A LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard from Newegg, and the graphics look significantly better. Colors are richer, resolution is better; so I suspect my previous video card/driver was not up to the task. I'm upgrading my review from a 2 to a 5, and recomending this now.
