Bought this for my heavy gate, works great, easy install.

I used this for 2 different occasions and is working for each so far. I would not put a lot of weight on it; that test will come if fat bear tries to go over it. :P The weight makes the spring lower - so I wonder if the spring will go over the years, which could make it tilt (?). However - Very easy to install (see my 2 types: metal and wood), and for the price - just by a new one after several years if it does where out. I am thinking this will work for 5-10 years plus though.One was on a metal fence where I had to come up with a way to get a wheel on where the metal curves (the standard bigger fence wheel would not work). Added washers to get it leveled out. Most of weight is at the main large post so any weight is minimal just to keep the 10+ ft fence from dragging just in case.Second was on wood fence where I wanted fence gate to fold back on itself (utilized part of the easy gate mechanism). Wheel would provide additional support on center weight of the gate. So far - it's working and rolls over the unlevel ground. Tip - I pushed down on it to give it some spring tension when I installed it. My thoughts was this would start supporting gate early (pre-sag and incase ground higher/lower in areas the wheel would always touch). :)Overall - wheel is very adaptable to use for several different project experiments. Easy to install with big screws or bolts - which you will need to purchase separately pending your project.

Very sturdy and rolls well on uneven ground. I am a 73 year old woman and installed it myself on a metal cattle gate with a few tools. Highly recommend to make life easier.

Advertised wrong. This is advertised as a 65lb spring (125lb max load but that doesn't matter for setting it up). The spring is barely preloaded (only a couple of pounds) and full compression load is only about 25lbs. when the spring is almost a solid stack. The spring rate, stacked load, or what really matters the mid stroke load are nowhere near 65 lbs. This will only work as it is supposed to with about a 15lb load.You I was able to make it work for me by creating a shim to place under the spring and increase the preload to what I needed.

Good for me for the oversized wood gate that had made extra sturdy....No screws in bag was only down size but guess they figure you will know what you need for your usage wood, meatal, plastic etc
