Q: what the lbs rate hold for this?

In order to get the full rated pull strength, you have to have a thick piece of metal. For example, I could pull my 150 lb pull magswitch off of my sheet metal tool box, but when I attached it to a 1/2 inch thick piece of steel plate there was absolutely no way I could pull it off. So it depends on how thick the metal is you stick it to.

i have NO IDEA. You would need to figure out what TYPE of magnet they use. It is a strong magnet in a small space, so it is probably a rare earth magnet. but some rare earth magnets, like a neodymian, only have a currie temperature of 310 deg C. I have only used it at room temperature.

Very strong, I’ve never had and issue with it pulling off - I use it to clamp work pieces while welding. Only issue is that the switch it tough to engage at times. Overall good strong product.
