Encourages a plethora of foods.
My kid loves this book! In my mind, it’s more about eating the fruits and veggies before starches than eating them along side of things. It pushes them to eat them first. Which isn’t a bad tactic, just not what I was expecting. Still, an encouraging book for picky kids.

Fun for my 6-year-old granddaughter.
Teaching kids about nutrition is a challenge. This book is a nifty tool for starting conversations with my rainbow-loving 6-year-old granddaughter. She sits still for this one.

Lots of colors
I’m trying to get my strong willed 4 year old to eat fruits and veggies. As of right now, she only wants kids meal foods….burgers, Mac n cheese, chix nuggets. Surprisingly, she loves this book and loves going over the different foods. Hopefully one day she will actually try them. Cute book and for me it is serving it’s purpose;)

I can Eat a Rainbow
This books was very informative and held my three year olds attention. I would definitely recommend it for studying good eating habits.

Not what I was looking for
Im a dietitian and was looking for a book to read to school age children about healthy vegetables, eating a variety of foods, and/or about trying new foods. This book is geared to maybe 2 to 5yr olds. It consists of very short rhyming verses about eating. It's a cute book but not what I was looking for.

The worst book I have ever purchased
I have NEVER returned a book before until this one. As a Certified Nutrition Coach I couldn’t wait to get this book to read to my daughter and teach her about importance of eating the rainbow. Well, how disappointed was I when I read the book myself first. Not only did it feel like there were pages missing in this book (it made no sense whatsoever), but it also creates a mindset that can actually lead to disordered and picky eating. “If you want to eat the spaghetti, you must eat the veggies first”. It teaches the kids that unhealthy foods are a reward for eating healthy foods, making the healthy foods feel like a punishment to get to what they really want. I was appalled by the whole rationale in this book.
