So good!
My tween son has been using Costa Hair Clay for Men by Forte Series Extreme to rock the trendy messy hair look, and it works perfectly. It gives him that effortless, tousled style without looking greasy or stiff. The hold is strong enough to keep his hair in place all day, but it still feels soft and natural — exactly what a messy hair style needs. It’s easy for him to use himself, and it doesn’t leave any residue or weigh his hair down.

Awesome
I just bought 10 more of these in case the formula changes in the future. If any of the Forte workers are reading, PLEASE DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING WITH THE FORMULA!!! I will buy this for life and recommend to others if nothing changes! Great product- I was looking for something to replace Kevin Murphy Night Rider because Kevin Murphy had changed their product so that hold was lacking and it was no longer really matte. This product is great- holds all day, makes my fine hair look more full, truly matte finish. I am an east Asian guy so my hair is straight FYI. Yes it's a tiny bit stiff and difficult to remove from the container but I think it's just how things go if you want to have a product that really keeps your hair in place all day without falling. I'm buying the product for the hold and look, not for a very tiny inconvenience of pressing a little harder to get it out of the container. Doesn't really smell like anything to me. Hold is stronger than Hanz de Fuko Claymation, this is more matte, and it doesn't make your hair clump up as much. Doesn't really look like you have any product in your hair either, if you use the right amount. Claymation isn't bad but this is better. AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T CHANGE! Oh god I'm so sick of companies changing their hair products and then I need to search for new ones hahah.

Good for thick hair
I have really thick hair and have struggled to find a good product that lasts throughout the day. This stuff has been the best thing I’ve found so far for keeping my hair intact throughout the day. Like some of the other reviews, this clay is rather hard but I just run it under my hair dryer for a few seconds and it softens it up pretty well.

Holds Great - Costs NOTHING in comparison to the value
Can we discuss the irony of this product? We spend countless hours over the years washing our hair and trying to ensure it is clean and fresh smelling. Then, in an effort to look EVEN BETTER, we smear clay over our hair to ensure it is in position tighter than an big-haired 80s 'do held together with pins and hairspray! Having pointed that out, let's be clear- this stuff rocks. I have hair that is thinning and has been since birth, I believe. It is this thin, delicate stuff that can't stay in place because the lightest breeze will have it flying all over the place. Put some of this stuff in and it is as solid as a rock. As long as I don't touch my hair, no additional brushing needed through the day. It is set and forget - a man's favorite phrase outside of the bedroom! It holds like a rock! The only detraction is its smell. It is clay. It smells like clay. I guess you get what you get. Not sure that I want to smell like clay, but it does not linger and the wife does not complain about it. She complains about EVERYTHING ELSE, so either she's just burnt out (something she SWEARS will never happen - her job is NEVER done) or her sense of smell is impaired (also a no, she has the nose of a bloodhound), or the scent tends to diffuse over a short period of time. No stain is left on either clothing or bedding. Easy to put on - just dab a bit onto a couple of fingers, rub them into the palms of your hands, run them through your hair and soon, you too will have dried mud in your hair and BE HAPPY ABOUT IT!!! All joking aside, this is a product that I never run out of and am sure to have with me everywhere I go, as I use it daily. Great product at a fantastic price - salon looks at K-Mart prices!

BAD
Worst hair product ever. Clay is extremely difficult to get out of the container and extremely difficult to style.

A good product, but ultimately not very versatile
I'm mostly Irish and have straight, thick, medium/longish hair. I tried a lot of different styling methods and different amounts of the product to make it work, but it would always result in hair that looked "styled" (as in sort of clumped and almost slick looking) and would unfortunately make my hair so heavy that it would lose all volume and go from the aforementioned styled look, to looking like it was caked in grease and I hadn't showered in 2 weeks with a school shooter look. I think this is designed more-so for people with short hair that already has a lot of natural volume and needs to be kept on a leash with a heavy hold product like this, because it just did not give the look I was after what-so-ever. That being said the product smells great and it's a great value pick as it's not too expensive and if used moderately should last over a year (I use about a nickel sized chunk for hair that was a little above my shoulders 5 times a week for about 4-5 months and still have more than half of it left). So overall, it's a quality product but I think most people are better off with softer and less dense products like molding pastes or what I'm using now- sea salt spray + texture powder.

Definitely hold your hair
Man does this stuff make your hair do whatever you want. The answer is yes it does. The only drawback is you have to damp the product very slightly with water so you can rub it in your hands and when you get it in your hair you can get it to do anything. Your hair is slightly stiff once the product is in but it definitely lasts all day
