Maradona: The Hand of God

As human beings we all have flaws; even our heroes. This man was a hero to many while flawed in many aspects. A great read on the legend of Diego Maradona. Strongly recommend.

A very interesting read on the life story of Maradonna. So sad to see how drugs and alcohol shortened the career and story of what could have been the greatest football player ever.

I am not a soccer fan but I got hooked because of the recent 2014 World Cup. I heard about Maradona from an Argentinean friend. This book is quite good - the author is empathetic but tells it like it is. I am enjoying the book immensely. I feel like I have gotten to know Maradona and understand some of the unusual pressures faced by these stars who play out of their home countries for much of their lives.

Jimmy Burns is an incredible writer. I recommend this book to anyone with an interest in true, authentic football. I only wish I saw Diego play in person.

This book and the Drogba are the best biography's that I have read. Some hard words in this book but it tells you a lot of truth and filled with interesting facts of Maradona! Definitely one of the best books that I have ever read!

The author lets you know how much legwork was involved in researching and interviewing for the book. If only the same amount of effort had been put into fact-checking and editing. Several factual errors in the book (Boca Juniors of Argentina playing in the European Championship??) and enough spelling mistakes and typos to make you question the entire book. Given all the people the author spoke to and the notoriety he received when he first published the book, it should be so SO much better than what it is.

Probably the best biography of anybody ive ever read, simple as that...a true modern masterpiece which should be read by anyone with an interest in the the man, the myth & the legend.
