GVP Leave-In Conditioner 33.8 oz, Repairs Dry or Damaged Hair

Half the price of Sebastian brand. I buy this at a beauty store but it’s cheaper on Amazon. Feels and smells great. Wonderful for my curly hair. So smooth! Not crunchy

I love this to control my frizzies on my pixie. You hardly need any at all. Has a pleasant but not strong smell and is not greasy or sticky, and does not leave residue.

Leaves hair feeling soft, but manageable.

The conditioner works great on hair to make it easier to comb through and get rid of tangles.

Hair felt a little gummy for a leave in conditioner. Made styling a bit more difficult.

I've never tried Sebastian Potion 9, so I can't compare the two. I'm reviewing this product on it's own merits.It's semi-thin and light orange, with a scent that isn't amazing but also nothing unpleasant. I have hair that gets weighed-down easily by products, and this GVP doesn't do that unless I use large globs of it. I like that it's a leave-in treatment, so I can just smooth it through my hair quickly and go out, no heat or blow-drying necessary. It probably gets rid of close to 70% of frizz, although the effect isn't terribly long-lasting and I see some frizz coming back after maybe 3-4 hours. Overall, it's a product that I like enough to use up, but not buy again. I'd rather spend extra for a product that gives me a bigger difference in the look and style of my hair. If you have hair that is easily weighed down by products and only need a little smoothing and frizz control, I could recommend this.It might be worth noting that the total price (including shipping) has gone up since I bought it in late 2012, and a 5.1oz of SP#9 can be found on Amazon for under $14 now, so I'm not sure you're saving much money buying this generic version.
